fala There were no minutes of stress for Vee fans this AM. And trust I know what its like to root for her and watch her snatch defeat from the jaws of victory. She was on point from the get go and I'm starting to believe it may be a (somewhat) improbable run. And I was surprised that only a couple of ranking spots separate Isner/Berdych but agree that when Tomas is on his skill set surpasses Isner's easily. Off course I'm saying this with him 2 sets & a break up as well

I didn't realize that Gonzo lost this morning to the unfortunate looking Dolpolgozoldozolpov Jr. Dude looks like Kuznetsova's ugly brother. Is Gonzo injured?

Gonzo was probably coming back from injury (haven't seen him all clay season)... too bad that court wasn't televised.

I think if Dolgopolov got a haircut he'd be cute--reminds me of a young Malisse. He's been playing really well this season but I didn't get to see any of the match so I don't know if he played well or if Gonzo played like crap.
I'm over Baghdatis too, tisha. He's just too much "look at my endearing smile" and not enough playing tennis well anymore.
I'm none too pleased that Ginepri (the surprise American) beat Starace. A little less pretty left in Paris. Although he's still alive in doubles (not that I'll get to see that.)
Soderling lost a set. I was beginning to think that wasn't going to happen for a while yet.

I just saw the score for the Cilic match...very close, but I've only seen a couple points, including one point when Mayer kicked his racquet and it hit a linesperson.
Finally Tsonga closes this thing out 6-4 in the 4th. I love Tsonga and wish he'd stay healthy because I think he's great for the game. That De Bakker guy, though...if I never see him again I'd be very happy

She was on point from the get go and I'm starting to believe it may be a (somewhat) improbable run. It's good to hear that she's still looking convincing, Especially considering she'll be playing either Rezai or Petrova next round. It's likely to be her first serious test against a power player regardless of which one of those two makes it. From an aesthetic standpoint, I have no complaints about Ginepri remaining in the draw. In fact, he's very popular with both of us at chez f'clese. Plus, in spite of the fact that he's a horrible interview (he and Shenay Perry ca compete for most catatonic American in an interview), I like him. He's a grinder, and he always seems to work really hard. They really blew through the order of play today. Almost all of the courts are at least heading into their last match of the day.

Looks like Cilic is about to beat Leonardo Mayer in the 5th. It makes me kinda sad that there will be no Argies in the second week of the French. Granted two of them are out with injuries (Delpo and Nalbandian) and a third has been harboring a wrsit injury and frankly shouldn't have played (Monaco) but it still makes me sad as players from that country have traditionally done well at RG. Even Dulko could not capitalzie on her defeat of Azaranka.

I didn't see much of the matches this morning, but I find myself wondering, not for the first time: is it possible Mardy Fish actually think he looks good, or does he just not care that he looks like ultimate crap?
Seriously, all he needs to do is get a haircut, shave and wear a reasonably well-fitting polo shirt, shorts and SOCKS FOR FUCK'S SAKE, and he would leave the realm of the repulsive and enter the realm of the ordinarily unattractive (like Murray has).

I like Kuznetsova, but this has to be the worst insult ever.
He's always been like that, at least to me. And, dude? You're not hot. You look like the fucking missing link, okay?

Nadia, Nadia, Nadia. The thing that makes me want her to win and be the one to face Vanus in the next round is the same thing that means she'll never manage it. Now that she has lost the first set - after being in control through must of it- she'll go right down.

Hmm, Nadia took it to a third set. I stand corrected.

Those are some seriously unfortunate shots of OlDog. Since I can't spell either of his names, that's what I'm calling him. I hear he has a fabulous work ethic though. I'm looking at you, Marcos.
I like Sveta as well. She seems so laid back and really happy with her life, even if she's not always happy with her tennis. I remember a story when Sveta got cornrows/braids, that she consulted the W Sisters on hair care tips. She was utterly sincere about loving the look when it was completely hideous on her. They both seemed to really like her personally.
I could get behind Rezai if she weren't wearing the Joan Collins Meets the Borg outfit. I just can't look at it. I am no Petrova fan either.
Kirilenko just broke Sveta. NO NO NO.
Dementieva was shouting around the court a moment ago but seems to have calmed down. I wouldn't mind seeing her win a major.
ETA: How could I forget to comment on Mardy NoSocks? He's completely hideous. He's the kind of egocentric, ugly guy that women mock in bars. I bet he goes around at parties saying things like, "We park on driveways and drive on parkways. Think about it." Then walks away as if he's said something profound. Idiot.

I remember that! They looked completely wacky on her, but because of her personality, it seemed totally right to me for some reason. I follow her on twitter, and she does seem really laid back and sweet. There are often tweets gong back and forth between her, Serena, and sometimes Serena's hitting partner Sascha.

Petrova can only hold her fucking serve when she's down 2 match points. This is another match that has worn out its welcome.
