She must beat JJ. She must! Hoping against hope for Sam/Elena. Then I can enjoy either victory! Word--- either of them winning would bring me to tears. Fun regardless of who wins as it will be a new grand slam winner for the ladies- but I am team Elena (followed in the cabose by Team Sam) for the ladies. |

There would be something really sweet about Dementieva winning her first slam after all these years. I can't think of another player who has trucked on with her head held high through more adversity (serving woes, choking in her finals from years ago, heartbreaking losses). I'm hoping for a Stosur-Dementieva final too and I'd be fine with either winner. I don't think a Jankovic-Dementieva final would be competitive. Elena seems to have a lot of problems with her.

Yeah I'd love to see Elena win it all. She deserves to have a slam (well as much as anyone "deserves" such a thing) and this is a great shot for her!

I'm trying to be excited about the fact that we'll have a first time slam winner by the end of the weekend, but right now, I'm too worried about Stosur/Jankovic. I'm starting to hate that my dislike of Jankovic is becoming so consuming. It's dumb.

Well, I want Schiavone to win. Nobody ever talks about her as a GS contender, and it would be awesome to see her win a slam with her non-power hitting game.
That being said, I fully expect Jankovic to steamroll to the title. Maybe after she wins, she can take the same nosedive as Ivanovic did after she won.

So either Sam Stosur, Jelena Jankovic, Franny Schiavone, or Elena Dementieva is going to be a Slam winner by the end of this week? OMG. I'm not even sure how to process that. I will be rooting hard core for Elena though. Heh. I actually have Jankovic for the win in my draw. And I usually suck so bad at picking the WTA draws it's not even funny. Go, JJ! |

Man, hell of a match! I didn't catch it all, but I'm totally Team Stosur. Also, Team Demented.
And, apparently like everyone else here, Team Anyone-but CrankyBitch. Oh god, I don't want to hear that whiny voice giving a victory speech, as she waves her Lee Press-Ons at the crowd and artfully cries through the eyeliner.
(Eww, I did a Google image search to verify my eyeliner impression and she has way more "sexy" photos out there than you probably want to know about. Of course, I feel that way about most people who have "sexy" photos, as opposed to "tiki thinks you're sexy" photos, so take that with a grain of salt.)

I used to find Jankovic amusing and harmless but lately she's gotten so arrogant and obnoxious. Or maybe she hasn't changed and I'm just tired of her shit. I don't know for sure but I suspect winning a Slam would intensify her irritating behaviours which would intensify my dislike even further. I hope Sam doesn't have any type of letdown after winning two huge matches.

The JMac Fellates Nadal show has started again. No, JMac, Almagro doesn't cover the court as well as Nadal. No one else does either, you slobbering moron.
Although he did make a good point that there's not as much attention on Almagro as the other Spanish players. Possibly because he's not posing naked and looking longingly into a mirror every other week like the rest of the Spanish Slutmada.
On a shallow note, Almagro is really skinny now. Good for his tennis, no doubt, if not for me. Also, very close-set (verging on Cyclops) eyes. But still all right overall.

I thought I'd be fine with Almagro winning--I do like the guy. But now that he's down a break I'm rooting for Rafa. I think my little dream is to have Rafa/Soderling in the final with General Sod winning. That, and I think Rafa can take down Beaker more easily that Almagro could and someone beating Beaker will become all important to me pretty soon.

This crowd is the worst crowd I have seen at a grand slam in ages. Do they want the players to be shot out of cannons? Lame, lame lame. Blah during the Sam/Serena match blah duirng this match.

True although I'm just going to blindly assume Ferrer isn't included in the Slutmada. That being said, I like the Slutmada and look longingly at them when they are posing naked.
