I may be the only woman in the world who finds necks sexy, but Murray has a totally gross and unsexy neck. Marat has the sexiest neck in the history of necks. Watching Murray right now though, totally unsexy. I absolutely want to be the chicken salad in a Ferrer, Verdasco, Lopez wrap. Ted Robinson. I mean. Who hires that guy? What are his credentials? He can speak without stuttering and saying a lot of uhs, but does that qualify him to call Wimbledon? I think not. JMac and Carillo at least have some skills to back it up, but Ted is a giant bag of useless wind. Colon wind even. |

I thought it was pretty darn tight and exciting--at least until inevitability kicked it. Losing that 2nd set tiebreak when he had all those opportunities both in the set and in the tiebreak was a letdown. Getting that break immediately in the third picked the match up again, and then Rafa broke Andy back and the pace slowed a touch again.
I'm watching NBC's coverage (they are currently at the very beginning of the 2nd set) and OMIGOD! Ted! Let it go! Just because Rafa said he'd see John at the US Open does NOT mean he was not thinking about Wimbledon. Every Rafa match I've seen with Ted commentating has had this stupidity in it. Poor John is sick of explaining that Rafa just knew his audience (talking to John and the US viewers through him) and that Rafa's thinking about the one Slam he doesn't have and not skipping Wimbledon in his head.

It is funny- it sounded like the match was exciting on the radio despite the score. Did it play dull on tv? Not to me. I found what I saw of it to be highly entertaining. My only disappointment (albeit a big one) was that the fight that Murray showed in the 3rd set just petered out. Murray just limped through that last game. I was hoping for a longer match. |

Hee hee- I have actually thought that Belluci has a nice neck in the past. It is long (perhaps too long) but a lovely olive color and smooth.
Andy sounds all right in his presser- but says he will stay away from the tennis courts for a while. Sounds disappointed- but not gutted the way he did after the AO.

Kinda depressing that a lot of the players have been saying this. I guess the spring/early summer has been really hard on a lot of them.

Has Ted rabbited on yet a about Rafa being a natural right hander? Because I've only heard him talk about that 4980 times. In 2010. Ignoring all the times he's blathered about it before.
Mary seems to have cut back a bit on her inappropriate laugh quota.

Congrats to Rafa and Tomas! Hopefully Tomas will feel up to the occasion on Sunday and we'll have a great final, hopefully another five-setter.
Can't believe Murray didn't shave for this match. The only way he isn't stomach-turning visually is if he's clean-cut and doesn't open his mouth.
And my suspicion has always been that we have J-Mac to thank for inflicting Ted Robinson on us. I think Mac liked working with him (especially TR's fawning) on USA and got him the gig with NBC. I've heard Robinson interviewed, and he's interesting and appealing. But his hyperventilating, fan-girly match calling is beyond annoying.
