Eek, I missed Federling up to this point; could anyone please give me a brief recap? Is Sod just off and Roger rolling?

It's crazy windy tonight. I just left work at 10PM from downtown Manhattan and the wind is really bad. It's odd because there's no tropical storm anymore but the winds are keeping up. It seems like it bothered Sod more than Roger in that game where he got broken back.
I do remember that when Roger played Agassi in the final (2005) Agassi commented on the ridiculous wind that day, so Rog has a lot of experience in this. It's part of hurricane season I think, however distantly.
ETA: tiki, I crossed posts with you but I think Rog is currently up in the 2nd due to his handling the wind better, as I just mentioned. Missed the first.

Tiki - Soderling is trying to play his usual hard hitting game but in this wind it is not working very well. Also, he is not serving well. He has such a high toss and the wind is moving it around which makes his serves quite awkward. Federer has had quite a few aces - 13 in fact. Also Fed is moving Soderling around the court especially up and back and Soderling is not handling it well.
And Roger just took the second set.

Thanks much, roseha and breezy! Pretty much what I would have expected. I thought Sod's game would not hold up well in wind. Federer looks very calm, cool, and collected. Sod would be my second choice for the title, but it looks unlikely at this point.

Collette practically needs her own thread at this point. She is overshadowing the actual play! Now that she's been discovered, perhaps she will end up in some fabulous film epic, win an Oscar, and dedicate that win to f'clese. As would only be right.

I wish there were some way Collette could find out that she has a gaggle of doting Internet aunties and uncles following her fondly. I suspect she might be a bit freaked out, what with the made up name and backstory. Not that it would ever happen, but maybe it's better this way. By the way, good match even if it was straight sets. I like that Sod fought until the end. Both night matches were much better than the Djoker/Monfils match. |

Man, you weren't kidding. Driving home last night I couldn't even hear the radio over the wind. Yes, I could have shut the window and sun roof, but what's the fun it that? I actually had to fight the steering wheel a few times.
After the Rog/Sod match I watched a little of TTC's Open Tonight or whatever it's called. What is up with Justin smiling through everything all of a sudden? It was the same pasted-on Joker grin no matter what he was saying. Very bizarre.
eta: skyz, West Side Story fan? I love me some Rusty Tamblyn.

The commercial is cute Fala but I think you are starting to veer in to the territory of needing a visit to Federer's big yellow couch.
