Thanks, breezy, I thought so.
I was only looking forward to Henin/Kuznetsova, but Woz/Cibulkova is more entertaining at this early point than I had expected. Cibulkova is one feisty little broad.

Both in top form I take DelPo over Bagy, but this result is not a surprise. Delpo coming off an long toug injury (but the 236 ranking is clearly irrelevant), and let's face it, when he's on Bagy can really, seriously play this game. Nice it went 4 anyway, but as DelPo has been saying himself, he's cllearly not yet in form and ready to contend in the majors. Just too soon.
Men basically going as expected,all top 15 through. But what was up with Nalby, what injury or just spent? Disappointing match.
Women, the story is ridiculous unflattering outfits the last couple days. Wonder how Venus will come out next round, what kind of shape. Also looking forward to Kuznetsova.

Too true, acre. I like the old school outfits just fine -- polo and a skirt or whatever, the kind of outfit Henin wears. I guess I just don't care about fashion in tennis.
This is horrible, but with that very smooth, rounded face (and sort of receded hairline), Woz's head looks like an onion that someone drew eyeliner-ed features on.

What happened to Troicki? And Mahut probably isn't too pleased right now. . .
I like Cibulkova's outfit, it looks comfy--which is hard to find in the women's game. Like something Lindsay used to wear.

Oops, fell asleep for a second there. I'm really looking forward to Henin/Kuznetsova. I'm also convinced that of course we'll be seeing Tugdick, I mean Roddick, instead...

There's been a lot of talk about Kuznetsova's weight loss. I didn't see much of Ivanovic, but did they talk about her weight loss? Because it looks more significant to me, in the sense that Kuz went from a bit too bulky to maybe just enough bulk, but Ivanovic went from solid with no excess fat to really quite thin (her arms looked like sticks when I saw her briefly). Just curious. Anyway Ivanovic should be thinking about fixing her head, not her body.
I know this is unpopular, but come on, Justine!

Blech, Henin. I hate to admit it, but I just can't get behind Kuznetsova. She seems really nice and I feel like I should like her. But she's also just another in the big group of Russian women who are unreliable headcases. I can't think of a headcase, men's or women's side, that I really root for. Not worth it.
Yes, I'm bitter. Haha.

I wish she'd put 5 pounds back on. Yay Kuzzie! I knew she would NEVER manage to serve it out, so I was prepared for the drama at the end. |

For those of you who didn't see it, it's an area, not sure how big, about 4-5 feet from the net. It is COMPLETELY dead. When they tried to bounce a ball on it, the ball just went splat and died. It was as if they had tried to bounce a ball of wet clay. Hilarious.
