Thanks harry and Jer,
It just seemed that they broke their coverage at such an awkward moment. I have ESPN2 back now.

Yeah, if Fed loses I am gonna th-ow a damn fit ... at least he's up in the 2nd. Anyone catch what went on du-ing Nadal's timeout? I had someone he-e and had to miss a bit.
Ooh, I'm totally with you on the Nadal-JMDP - wait who's who? Then I -ememembe-, Nadal is left handed and watch fo- that, heh.

harry24 - Delpo's eyes are somewhere in the ballpark between green and hazel. I do remember seeing someone put up a youtube video of him using Coldplay's "Green Eyes".

So much tennis on I can't keep up with it all (not a complaint) - Berdych seems to have gone out tamely, or was Fish that good? I still can't quite think of Fish being an honest to god top 10 guy, though he is. But really - Fed, Nadal: resto-e some orde-, okay? Well, actually the men have gone basically as expected, as they usually do. Top guys a-e formidable.

Roger's up 3-0 in the third after winning the second so I am feeling better about him. I missed the end of the tiebreak so don't know what happened but he seems to have picked it up, yes!
I remember what people were saying about the Wimbledon website being behind the radio/TV was it? It's well behind ESPN which is bizarre. Maybe IBM put in too much extra stuff on the website and it's been slowed down. I'm following on the BBC site as well as ESPN to get an idea what's going on.

Well, damn, I can't find a stream that will work from my office. With both Roger and Rafa losing a set it could be a long afternoon. Guess I'll have to stick with Radio Wimby. Ugh!

Well at least the Big Boys a-e all living up to expectations, calming me down. Fed moving on, Nadal-JMDP tight and competitive(and sca-y with both going down at times), but Nadal ultimately leading.
US TV is waay focused on Fish it seems, big shock.

Too true.
However, Fish was another player who gave a thoughtful, interesting interview to Macatee on Wimbledon Tonight a few days ago. I'd never really liked him before, but now I kinda like him too. He seemed really nice.
Also, did any of you see the brief article in the NY Times that says that Fish was crediting his dog for inspiring him to do so well at Wimbledon. My immediate fear was that his dog was sick or had died. I can't handle anything bad happening to dogs, so I clicked on the article with great trepidation. As it turns out he claimed to have gone back to California between the French and Wimbledon to help his wife celebrate their dog's second birthday. So cute! I think it's a dachshund.

God damn that was hard to watch. Both Nadal and Del Po suffering some injury. Del Po upset about Nadal's medical TO. Rafa upset about his drinks being wrong. Rafa actually looking really, really scared about his injury. And then Fed was down a set and I started panicking. I thought with the Williams losing today, anything was possible and I couldn't stand it. Just too much drama. I worked myself up into a headache.
I hope Rafa's okay. He just squeaked by and Fish's game is looking good. And I'm still rooting for Maria. I like her determination.

You know that panic set in after Venus lost. That said, I must admit that Fish has at this point earn that top American slot the way he's played the last year or so (which really says as much about Roddick than anything else).

How do you Venus fans assess where she is in her career right now? I took a quick look at her record, and, unless my eyes deceive me, she hasn't won a title in about a year, and a significant title in quite a bit longer than that. Do you think it's mostly been a matter of injuries? Assuming she can recover her health and get into good shape again, do you think she can get to the top of the game again, or is she just at a lower level than she used to be?

Hard to say because there have been so many injuries. Starting at last year's French Open, she's played only Wimbledon, US Open, Australian, Eastbourne and Wimbledon - so having no titles in the last year is logical. Last spring, she was playing pretty well for someone not known for clay prowess - ranked #2 if you recall. Injuries have been a big factor so it's tough to tell her level until she's healthy for a few months but it's not exactly tough the way the ladies' game is right now.
