I had back issues yesterday that didn't ease up until I decided to clean. Moving is so important to loosen the back. I don't think Andy is a drama queen. More like a sad sack.
I really should look at the draw because I have no idea who is in which side of the draw. Djokovic got Federer right? And the women's is, as usual, a total crap shoot?

Murray has retired from one match in his career and there was certainly good reason to retire from this one. You don't serve the way he did in the first set if there isn't something serious. So it's not even Wimbledon time but I find myself saying to the British press (Wade specifically) "Shut up."
paraphrasing Carillo: (after all the stuff they've been saying about the French not supporting Simon): They like [Mahut]. He plays serve and volley and he looks nuts!

Mark Knowles is visiting with the Radio guys and I did not know that Malisse had the same heart thing that Mardy has. I remember when Malisse got ill (Mark said it was nine years ago) and was off the tour for awhile but I didn't know why.
The other thing they were talking about earlier is that Roger and IMG have parted ways. That should be interesting. . .
eta: why do the people screaming "Roger" sound so very desperate?

Roger's match is starting to get a little too interesting.

I'm not a big Roger fan but this is uncharacteristic. Mahut is adorable with his Alien #3 looks and whackadoodle net play. Hard for me not to cheer for him, but someone needs to take Nole down a peg and Rog schools him well.

I love (the French) Nico. He was so happy when he came up to net--getting to chat with Roger for a couple of seconds. He played well (and Roger had those lapses I've been hating for the past couple of years) and he's fun.
Oh, and Godsink (Mr. Mary Jo Fernandez) left IMG with Roger so they'll be together raking in the dough somewhere else. Looks like Tiger and his agent left IMG last year so the new head at the top might be driving out the big guns.

That's what I was wondering. It seems there are some close friendships between the Godsink/Fernandez and Fed families, and it was hard to see that being broken up without some very, very bad blood.

Djoker doesn't like when people aren't cheering for him. . .

random thoughts:
Hmm, I didn'twatch the Djok match but I can see how he wouldn't like being chee-ed against. Who would? I mean, I know it's a total unde-dog situation, which usually sti-s the fans, and in this case chee-ing Djok is almost like salt in a wound it was so unbalanced. I don't love him, but nowadays I like him okay, and he is the best tennis playe- in the wo-ld until fu-the- notice. I mean, if I was a betting type (not even a little bit), my money would be on Nadal, but I'd hedge that bet with some backup money on Djok.
I think yeah, Sveta played just that well. Also, in fo-m and in good health I think she's just flat-out bette- than Agi. The woman didn't win 2 Slams in some kind of fluke. The 2nd p-oves it, yes, she is that good. Though I think he- tattoo is dumb. I have nothing against Agi, good game and all, but I don't think she's eve- shown me anything that makes he- a big time playe-. I know she's #3, but it's like Woz to me, she's #3 by att-ition, she's not actually the thi-d best, not even close. Hello, S&V Williams, Kim? Venus may not eve- facto- int the last stages again, but obviously that's illness, not innate ability.
Fed is off his feed so to speak, but that's the beauty of Slams, he can play his way into it. O- not, we shall see. On an awful day he's still a top 10 playe-. And I didn't know about the IMG stuff, but no matte- who he's with you'd have to be vastly incompetent not to make tons of money off Fed. He doesn't have to lift a finge-, he is who he is.
Yup, I don't think Andy M was in any way "faking", he's exactly a sad sack to me, but he just is, he's not a malinge-e- o- into the headgames that I've eve- noticed. And as you've all said, bad backs suck and not moving at all is about the wo-st thing you can do fo- them. He wa-med up, how ha-d is that to unde-stand?

I love that a Na Li is "Madame Li" at the French Open. It sounds kind of ominous.

harry, nothing special--Djoker just likes being the favorite in a match and he got cranky face on when the crowd was cheering madly for Devilder. The difference between past-couple-of-years Novak and earlier Novak is that he now gets over it and gets on with the winning.
I'm so desperate for tennis on my TV this weekend that tomorrow morning I'm going to buy the French channel on Cablevision. I won't be able to understand a word but I'll get to watch. . .
Hee, that's kind of brilliant. Very old-school Monkees episode villain.

The Monkees! Hee.
Murray is looking good today.
Novak has matured considerably. I still can't stand him. I just can't deal with the hair, the neck, the family, the pajamas and the butt name. He's one pair of mesh slip on shoes away from being a Miami Vice extra. He is, however, the best right now.
Part of what's irritating the snot out of me is the endless stories about how "no one is talking about Djokovic." Seriously, I hear that in every espn broadcast. Everyone is talking about how no one is talking? Idiots. Things no one is talking about? How about Nico Almagro? I think he has the best chance against Nadal in that half.
I am torn on this Lepchenko on the Olympic team situation. McHale looked good, but Li was better today.
This Benneteau match needs to finish quickly.
Come on Tommy Haas!

I don't understand what the discussion is about regarding Lepchenko. She has been in the U.S. for like 10 years, and has been playing for the U.S. since 2007. Also, I don't think a tennis player comes to the U.S. in the hopes of an easier road to the Olympics. Is there some specific issue that's causing people to question whether it's appropriate? I will say that now that she and Sloane Stephens are in the fourth round and there's a possibility that they could both overtake Venus, I'm torn about rooting for them.
