It's weird to realize that Lukas Rosol will likely never make a run at a major but is now part of winning two historic matches in the last twelve months (plus he's in the pics of the Czech Republic's Davis Cup celebration).

Tomorrow The Tennis Channel is showing Rafa's match live at 4pm EST. I'm also sure there should be streaming links, as there were for his doubles today.

He's up a set and a break. Whatever, back to my Netflix.

I meant to watch but I went to see Warm Bodies instead. I wonder though about the surgery. I mean he was out 9 months or so, wouldn't it have been easier to have had it and rehab it these past 9 months instead of playing in pain?

Warm Bodies was actually an OK movie. I saw it Sunday with my BFF. Anyway, I guess he was hoping to be ok for the Olympics but we know that that was when he stopped playing so...

Seemed for awhile there they didn't know exactly what was wrong I guess. Yeah, Warm Bodies wasn't bad, the girl looked like a blonde Kristen Stewart which was kinda distracting, but she was a much better actress.
Just finished watching Taylor Townsend vs Sachia Vickery play, in which Vickery just won. I believe this is Townsend's Pro tour debut. She came back in the 2nd. It was kind of odd. The crowd was flat and Taylor still has a bit of a gut, but it didn't seem to impact her running, though it didn't seem they did a lot, Taylor couldn't really hold serve and made errors. But she wore a tight shirt and it was quite noticeable and until she gets a bit fitter I don't see her making an impact too much.
And Vickery wore too short of a skirt that kept riding up her thighs, which was distracting because I wanted her to pull it down. Their different styles were interesting, Taylor's slice and leftiness, and Vickery stuck a couple feet behind the baseline, she's speedy. First time I've ever bothered to watch a 100k.

I thought Townsend was already pro?

The commentators said that this was her 1st tournament since turning pro. Looking at her ITF info I think it's true. I believe she turned pro in December.

Gotcha, I get confused when US TV starts talking about Jr. players.

Regardless of how the USA-Italy tie ends up, what an awesome weekend from Lepchenko. I knew she was best on clay but to beat Vinci and Errani back to back on Italian soil is remarkable.

She really was great to watch this weekend. She played especially well against Errani this morning.

Anybody watching the Vina del Mar final? Horacia Zeballos has taken Rafa to a third set and is on serve in the third 5-4. I'm very torn, because this is obviously a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for HZ, but I want Rafa to win because he's Rafa.
ETA: Well, son of a gun, Zeballos won it. Good grief. Dude just had one of the greatest days in his whole life, and that's quite touching. I hope it doesn't discourage Rafa, though.

I saw most of that, although I didn't bother to watch the third set because I figured that what ended up happening couldn't possibly happen. the joke's on me.
I just read that Marion Bartoli will no longer be traveling with her father on tour. Maybe that's why she finally played Fed Cup.

Yeah, I kept thinking, "I can't believe what I just saw." (Hmm, that has a familiar ring to it.)

I turned on Tennis Channel after the Grammys, just in time to see the end of the Zeballos-Nadal match. Even having seen the result online, I still couldn't believe what I was witnessing. I just saw this guy try to choke away the set in his SF match (having only made one ATP final, years ago) so to see Horacio so calm in those last two games was unbelievable.
