I didn't know that either. Must have been great to watch.
Sloane is looking comfortable so far tonight.

It looks like she tightened up in the second set. Jovanovski makes a noise like she's just been stabbed every time she hits the ball.

I kind of got it in my head that Bojana's noise is a Serbian phrase that starts with "Ajde". Which makes it impossible to take her tennis seriously.

One thing about Stephens is she doesn't seem to reposition herself after hitting the ball... it's almost like she takes a mini-time out to see where her shot is going.
Between Stephens' movement and Jova's flaky serve... I'm rooting for Stephen's because her opponent's screaming is wearing my last nerve.

Her passive play is making me crazy . . .
. . .and she wins.
She was too adorable in that post-match interview. There has to be something wrong with her, right? I hope not.

Stephens came back!
"I don't want to be old and broke." Hee.

OK, can Sloane be any more adorable. I usually can't stand the on-court interviews because they are so contrived, but I'll have to add Sloane to Li Na for people who are worth watching after the match.

Serena put on a clinic tonight. Well done.
Sloane is a breath of fresh air.

Anyone up watching Fed-Raonic? I just woke up and was happy to see Fed won the first set. But my DVR didn't record it. Grrr.

I didn't either--I would have loved to have seen that. Two of my favorites. I wonder if their opposite personalities meshed well.
I didn't get to watch the Roger/Milos match. When I work up it was long over. I just read the recap on the Aussie Open website. Is this true of the second set?
They said the tiebreak was much better though. Certainly doesn't sound like the Tomic/Fed match even with the similar scoreline.

I had the matches I'd taped during the night on as background noise (I knew the scores in advance). Somewhere in the Murray-Simon match, Brad Gilbert was complaining about how he was trying to take a nap between matches and couldn't because of the noise on Hisense from the previous match! I wonder if Bojana is challenging Larcher de Brito territory.

I had been looking forward to the Li Na/Radwanska match but so far it's about as exciting as a glass of milk. Not exactly Monfils/Simon territory but not exactly riveting.

I had been looking forward to the Li Na/Radwanska match but so far it's about as exciting as a glass of milk. Not exactly Monfils/Simon territory but not exactly riveting. I missed most of it, but it looked like Li was playing well. Did it get any more enjoyable? I wonder how she will do against Sharapova (assuming Sharapova wins her quarterfinal)? It's hard to know how her new coach's influence will help her. Clearly she's capable of beating maria, but I don't know how she'll match up with her based on the way maria is playing right now.

I pretty much saw all of it over dinner. I think Li is doing a good job with keeping her concentration these days. Towards the end she failed to challenge a call that actually would have gone in her favor had she done so. I was so glad Mary Carillo wasn't calling the match since we never would have heard the end of that.
I've noticed in these afternoon matches that the changing light is quite noticeable so it must be quite a challenge for the players to deal with it.
