This is awesome.
For me, it was really Justine that completed the creepy element to the Carlos-Justine dynamic. I can't imagine Li Na having that wierd co-dependent thing going on.
I'm delighted to be wrong in my earlier prediction.

Yes, Li! Thank you! Awesome. I can discard her Carlos association, barely, but Li is doing her job right now. Welcome back to a final. I'm happy.

Fuck you Li Na. Heh, I actually don't mind her but not against my top fave. The Carlos Rodriguez thing though? Fuck that.

Yay! Li Na handled her business today. Great win! I'm thrilled for her.

Wow. I knew Na had a chance to win, because she's done it before, but I have never seen her that relaxed and focused even when she was winning. And no letdown whatsoever. I kept waiting for the customary string of wild misses that I normally pray she will pull out of in time, but it never happened. I'm totally satisfied with that match.

Wow. Whoo-hooo!!!! Way to go, Na!!
I'm so pleased. I think I'm happier about this outcome than Roger beating Tsonga!
I love Na so much I might root for her to beat even Sloane! (Fingers crossed for Sloane too!)
(Good heavens. Way too many exclamation points for one short post. Elaine Benes would be proud of me.)

I agree. A lot like the composure Stephens has been showing. Here's hoping....
I still haven't watched the end of the Roger/Jo match, my recording cut off but recorded the end on Tennis Channel so will be able to see it later I think.

Sloane Stephens: "I'm in the semifinals of a grand slam! I'm like: Whoa! It wasn't as hard as I thought!"
I love her.

It's easier when your opponent is injured, Sloane. Serena's ankle is swollen like a softball. Doubles really fucked her up.
Sloane needs to pick it up and hold serve. Get with the program.
Gonna turn it and watch Ab Fab on Logo instead.

She got the break back! Come on, Sloane. Hold. Hold.

I'm pleased about Na Li, though my dislike of Maria is almost 100% about the noise level. But in this case I'm just plain pleased about Na, she has the game when she plays it and it is nice to see. Is Carlos actually that bad? I'm asking, I don't know. My only association with him is as Henin's coach, which yeah is not a positive but I don't know anything else bad about him. (And maybe I don't want to, I find that often with these folks, both athletes and adjuncts, to fully know them is definitely not to love them, and I was happy enough not knowing.)
And this is about what I expected with Stepens-Aza, though I doubt it would've been much better if a seriously injured Serena was still in it. And I think I would like Vika a lot, if I could only stand to watch/listen to her. I so hope that the next generation of players and coaches would get it into their heads that the "breathing patterns*" they've established make a lot, a lot, of people just find them intolerable.
*That is such bullshit. I believe that the athletes believe it, because they're taught it at a young age and begin to succeed while doing it, but honestly, that is just bullshit. No-one in decades before found it necessary, and yet, you do? I don't think so.

Pam should shut up. I hate listening to her.

What a waste of getting breaks and then not being able to hold serve. Especially since Vika was having problems. I think Li can take Vika. Either way I'll be happy with whoever wins, but moreso for Li.

Yeah I think there's an (internet) consensus that Pam should always shut up. Should not be commentating at all. I wonder what TV is hearing that makes them think she is a good idea?
At least Sloane made the 2nd set competitive, an excellent tournament for her. Hope she's not Oudin-ish(which I don't think, and nothing against Melanie, I mean all she did was play the best she could, and she got big wins and the media made it an outsized deal because US Open blah blah.)
Yes, I would love to see Li win this. Fun, and not a fluke at all, as has been shown, since she's a Slam Champion.

It's impossible for me to get sufficient sleep during the AO. I'm exhausted and yet keeping one eye open.
I wonder if VikaGate is going to become a big deal.
