Good tight match so far between Ana/Henin, but Corina Morianu? Ow, my ears!!! Seriously, the worst speaking voice I've ever heard in tennis commentary. Makes Martina sound like an angel.
As for faces/bodies? I'll go:
Body: Marion Bartoli, Petr Korda Face: Justine, Radek Stepanek

Body: Feliciano Lopez, Jelena Jankovic Face: Amelie Mauresmo (really, she could go under bod, too), Feds (including the hair)
I'm wondering if I should book some time off work for the AO... the timing of the matches always KILLS me.

When TSN had the little graphic saying AUS Open coverage started Sunday I was surprised it so near, and obviously pleased.
Looking forward to more evil chatting while the matches are taking place.

I heard that Ancic was a shameless manwhore who came on to one of the MTF mods and her cousin in Poland. Nothing wrong with that but he looks far too much like the Karate Kid for me to lust over.
I'm not too keen on this new Aussie color, it's weirding me out.

Ah, this is hard. Especially in terms of best body. I think certain players, while not having the best overall body, have the best body part. Let's see...
Best Male Body Feliciano Lopez - total swimmer's body (which makes sense if you know his history). Long and lean with a nice ass. And his beautiful service motion showcases it all quite nicely. Honorable mentions - Rafael Nadal (love guys with an ass, it's rare), David Ferrer (dude is a brick house).
Best Female Body Ana Ivanovic - Not too thin, not too thick. Beautiful skin tone, muscle tone. I wouldn't be complaining if I had her body, that's for damn sure. Honorable Mentions - Venus Williams (I would do some serious damage with those legs), Justine Henin (she's tiny and compact, but I saw pics of her practicing in shorts and a sports bra in Australia...ain't nothing moving on that body).
Best Male Face Again, this is hard. I like different things on different faces, but I'll try. Feliciano Lopez - Dude has the profile of a Roman Emperor. And his eyes are gorgeous. Janko Tipsarevic - I love me some Tipsy! Especially in the glasses. There's something so hot to me about a guy who's in his early 20's, but at times looks like he could be in his mid to late 30s. Honorable Mentions - Here are some odd ones: Davydenko (he has a very pleasant, albeit a bit mousy, face. The hair is unfortunate.), Baghdatis (love his smile), Rafa (not classically handsome, but there is an openness to his face that I find very endearing), Roger Federer (from certain angles where his nose isn't in the way, lol).
Best Female Face Ana Ivanovic - Imperfections like everyone else, but it's pleasant to look it. Honorable Mention - Sania Mirza (and I struggled with not putting her first, I just think there's something very pretty about her).

Best Body: Paradorn Schrichiphan - I gotta agree with Nole. A lot of people sleep on him, but I've always been jealous of his athleticism and proportion. Venus Williams - It's all about proportion with her too. I think she's blessed with a long model-y body that's still not too thin, and is very athletic. Plus, she looks good in everything.
Honorable mention: Elena Dementieva, Jelena Jankovic, Rafa Nadal
Best Face:I had two ties for this one James Blake/Marat Safin Maria Kirilenko/Ana Ivanovic
Honorable mention: Elena Dementieva, Arnaud Clement
P.S. Two pretty good matches last night from Sydney. I saw all but the second half of the third set of Henin/Ivanovic. Obviously Henin is always impressive, but I really love watching Ana. When she's on, she has a sort of Davenport-esque effortless power thing going on. Those line drives and sharp angles seem to come out of nowhere. I only saw the first set of Kuznetsova/Vaidisova, but what I saw was good. Kuzzie seemed to have some problems with her nerves that was showing up in her serve percentages, but I always like her. Vaidisova just looked really steady, which is always a good sign for her.

That's an interesting turn of phrase. Paradorn is so ripped and rock hard, I can't imagine that it would be a comfortable sleep, but I wouldn't mind testing it out.
Wow, I have to say that I have exactly the same tastes as falafaclese. I even agree with all of the honorable mentions. Um, I'll do worst body/face then (this is TennisWithoutPity in my mind).
Body: Bartoli (she just doesn't look like a professional athlete), Baghdatis (who I love, but the man boobs have got to go) Face: Justine (I hate looking at her face) and Davenport (love her game, but she's the definition of homely), Nadal (another player I love, but he looks very Neanderthal)

This: Made my day. Too funny. I read an interesting post on Serena's website a couple of days ago, and then got distracted by something or other before I could follow through with my intent to post about it here. I just saw an article talking about it, and it jogged my memory. She posted what appeared to be musings about being dumped by someone that she was starting to fall for. She never mentions the guy by name, but I would guess it's about Jackie Long, only because it seems like he was the last person she appeared to be dating. The post can be found here. You have to scroll down a bit to the red section. Either kind of brave or kind of naive to put it all out there like that, but it's interesting to get a look into her as a regular person.

There's a change to the heat policy this year apparently. Matches will continue to the end of the set then go off. I can't remember how it worked previously.
Seeds in each half:
Federer Djokovic Gonzalez Ferrer Blake Nalbandian Berdych Baghdatis
Youzhny Moya Robredo Murray Gasquet Roddick Davydenko Nadal

Ho Ho Ho, match of the 1st round right here: Murray vs Tsonga. And GODDAMN IT, Santoro gets Federer in the 2nd round. Also Davenport/Sharapova in the second round. Draws are now up at the official website.

Djokovic, Hewitt, Safin, Baghdatis, Nalbandian, Ferrero, Ferrer is officially the Quarter.from.Hell.
Some of them way more dangerous than others, but still...
Glad Rafa ain't in it.

Isner v. Santoro is going to be interesting to watch and boy, I bet Sharapova is annoyed with her luck. I'm annoyed that Kiefer v. Ferrero is first round. I keep hoping against hope each year that JCF can get a really good run going.

So that quarter has 2 former winners (Safin, Johansson), 2 ex-finalists (Hewitt, Baghdatis), 3 ex-semifinalists (Nalbandian, Ferrero, Keifer) and that's not even including the top seeds (Djokovic and Ferrer). Meanwhile, the entire bottom half has only Roddick as a former semifinalist. That's a lopsided draw if I ever saw one. This has to be Nadal or Roddick's best chance to reach the final.
