And here are the groups for the singles: Group A Roger Federer (SUI) Andy Murray (GBR) Juan Martin del Potro (ARG) Fernando Verdasco (ESP) Group B Rafael Nadal (ESP) Novak Djokovic (SRB) Nikolay Davydenko (RUS) Robin Soderling (SWE) and the doubles: Group A Daniel Nestor - Nenad Zimonjic Mahesh Bhupathi - Mark Knowles Frantisek Cermak - Michal Mertinak Mariusz Fyrstenberg - Marcin Matkowski Group B Bob Bryan - Mike Bryan Lukas Dlouhy - Leander Paes Lukasz Kubot - Oliver Marach Max Mirnyi - Andy Ram Schedule-wise, it looks like they will start each session with a doubles match and then follow it up with a singles match. There will be a day session and a night session through the semis.

Group A got the marquee draws and Group B got the competitive matchups.
I don't see del Potro being much of a threat here, given his post-US Open form. The crowd so won't care.

YES! I get Fer vs. Federer for my first session! Yippee! Here's the first couple of days Order of Play.Oh man--I also get the Bryan Brothers vs. Max and A. Ram Monday afternoon to be followed by Rafa vs. Soderling and Beaker vs. Davydenko that night. I'm getting rather excited. And after I had a Valerian Root-fueled dream about Fer last night I was getting a little nervous my sessions were not going to match up with his playing. With Murray vs. DelPotro starting things off Sunday afternoon (when I don't have tickets) I won't get to see one of them--whichever one doesn't play Tuesday day session.

I'm seriously envious lt. It wasn't until I saw Verdasco play live at Roger's Cup that I realized how stunningly hot he was. He is so entertaining to watch - in more ways than one.

breezy, I started flipping through Open last night. (Dang! I forgot about the web chat.) Hard to stop reading and I already get what you are saying about him needing to get over stuff--it isn't the big stuff, it's the little things. When I read it from the beginning to the end--instead of jumping all over the place--we can discuss. I will be watching him on Ellen tonight but I'm not holding my breathe for a hard-hitting interview there either.

lt - I hope you enjoy the book. It is a good read. I didn't like Andre when he was first on the scene and I liked him a lot more when he made his "comeback". He seemed like a different person. After I read the book though, I realize there is no "different person". The only thing that changed was the spin.

I haven't read it, but I'm guessing that AA was hoping to connect the two personas and erase the first image rather than the second. How unfortunate that perhaps he just erases the second....
Don't know if I'll read it, though I should if I'm going to comment... Maybe over the holiday? Tell me how long it takes you, lt.

I'll pass on the AA (ha!) book, I think. Unless, of course, someone just happens to give it to me.
So are the ATP year-ends on ESPN/2 or TTC or what? Sorry I'm so lazy not to have looked this up -- I count on you all! I'm still pretty burned out on the season; I can't imagine how the players feel.
lt, I hope you have a great time! Represent Tennis Heaven! Hey, maybe we should all chip in and send you a TH haiku t-shirt to wear...

Yes, have a great time lt!
tiki, I have seen that the early rounds and doubles final are on TTC and the singles final will be repeated there, but I don't know whether ESPN2 will have the semis/final in singles live. I hope so because I'll be out of town but I haven't found out for sure yet.

According to the website it looks like ESPN2 will have coverage starting with the semis and then the finals. I see on ESPN's site that they have the finals at 8 am ET on Sunday 11/29 but I don't see the semis.
I leave for the airport in a few hours. Maybe I should pack. My hotel is supposed to have internet service so I'll give updates.

That means that TTC will probably have the round robin matches, since I think that's what happened with the women's YEC.
Have fun in London lt!

Have fun lt! When you are watching Verdasco play remember not to stand up for any reason. Even if you've just dumped a drink in your lap. Every time I watched him play in Montreal, someone would stand up during the match and his head would whip around immediately and he'd give them the death stare untill they sat down. I've never seen a player so concious of the crowd around him. It didn't even matter how high up they were. He knew the instant someone was standing in the stands.

Yet another reason why I love this man. So humble off court and a great sense of humor.
His laugh made me LOL. So goofy.

Thanks for that Mpol. Roger always seems so serious. It's nice to watch him cracking up like that.

Yes, thanks, Mpol.
So I take it we're even more burned out than the players? It's truly the dog days of, um, winter -- no baseball; NFL is just weird this year; I hate the short days and cool nights. But I'm going to try to catch some matches on atdhe.net.
ETA wait, the tour finals aren't on atdhe?? Oh, I am so fucked.
