Thanks once again, admin. So you're a rugby fan too? I love it, but it's hard to see much coverage in the States. I do love the All Blacks, though!

They're showing it right now. I would recommend you check th listings during primetime. They tend to repeat things over an over between 6pm and midnight eastern time.
ETA: It's supposed to be on at 10pm eastern time on Monday assuming they follow their posted schedule.

Oh Reeshard, why must you be so flakey? Credit to Ferrer and everything but I still don't understand how Gasquet can be such a great shotmaker one day and a morose little bitch the next. Ferrer lost to Fabrice Santoro at the Australian Open 2006 for christssake (I remember this distinctly because I was laughing so hard throughout that match). Blake should win stockholm and he'll put himself in a nice position to go to Shanghai if he does, considering that there is only a seven point differential between him and Tommy R.

Ferrer lost to Fabrice Santoro at the Australian Open 2006 for christssake (I remember this distinctly because I was laughing so hard throughout that match). Granted, Richard was far from his best but Ferrer was playing some great tennis and should be given credit for that. Hopefully just because David lost to Fabrice at the 2006 AO it does not mean that he can never play great matches where he deserves to win. He had some good aggression, hit some lovely groundstrokes, and showed some really nice touch. David is playing some of the best tennis of his career lately and should be applauded for it in my opinion- even if he does beat Gasquet. While Gasquet was not his best- I don't think the match just hinged on his racquet. Ferrer actually does play well against players who shoot the loopier stuff that Richard often does. I know David is not as flashy of a player as Richard- but I am so glad he is doing well. He is a hard worker who deserves to get into Shanghai (which is an award for the whole year) imo. I do enjoy seeing a player at the age of 25 playing his best tennis ever. And hopefully since he has won two hard court titles this year and got the the semis at the USO- folks won't call him just a clay courter.

I'm thrilled for Ferrer. He deserved to win just as much as Gasquet deserved to lose. The Santoro thing? Didn't Federer lose to Volandri this year? I'm just saying....
Anyway, Kremlin Cup had Safin/Tursunov and Korolev all on the court together at once. Kunitsyn doesn't do much for me. But why oh why wasn't someone showing that match of absolute hotness?
My personal fav, Janko Tipsarevic, won as well.
Is it unAmerican of me to hope Blake gets shut out of Shanghai?

I think Gonzo is the biggest threat because he can still earn quite a number of points in the smaller tournaments that are left. James should win this week, but then we all know how he is about things that he "should" win. I just hope he has a Cincinnati-esque performance at one of the remaining Masters tournaments. Both would be nice, but I'm not going to push it.
Richard has shown that he can be very impressive at the bigger tournaments, so hopefully his present form (with the exception of the most recent final) will continue as well.
Unfortunately, numbers-wise, it looks more likely that one of these two will make it, rather than both. I'm still hoping for both though.
ETA: Yes. If James Blake doesn't make it to Shanghai, then the terrorists have won.

Dammit. Pass me a burka, would you?
I just can't stand James and his stork-like appearance. He needs tighter shorts and better posture.
Oh and color me unimpressed by Gasquet. He is so incredibly inconsistent. He can lose to anyone. Then again, he can come back against Roddick at Wimbledon. He makes my brain hurt.

Problems caused by his big caboose and the scoliosis he had as a kid respectively, I think. Mind you, I'm not complaining about the prodigious hindquarters, In fact, I find them enchanting.
I don't blame you. Interestingly, the same could be said for Blake. Fitting in a way, that they seem to be vying for the same spot.
Did anyone know that Ljubicic has been recovering from Kidney stones over the past few weeks? Didn't he just have some sort of blood virus or something? He really seems to have bad luck healthwise, I'm just glad it's not something serious. He's like the male Lindsay to me, except Lindsay's definitely more consistent.

chestylarue: I do like David Ferrer but he's the kind of player that Gasquet has no business losing to if he wants to become a contender. A player like Ferrer who got waxed in straights so easily by Djokovic at the USO and Davydenko in Cincinnati doesn't really have the weapons off the ground that should bother Richard, especially on a hardcourt.
As for Ferrer and Robredo, I'll withhold my admiration for them until they prove that they actually deserve to be in Shanghai as competitors and not as cannon fodder.
apocalipstick: Blake can't help his posture, he had/has scoliosis.

Well- Ferrer did have a very good win against Roddick on hard this year- so I would not be so ready to call him just cannon fodder. I think with his results this year and some of his big wins- he has shown that he "deserves" to be there. Trying hard, improving your game, and pulling some big wins is deserving to me. He has made the semis of Miami twice- made the quarters of Cincy and Montreal and won two hard court titles this year- so it is not like he is an idiot on hard. And as for not having weapons- I thought some of his groundstokes painting the line were quite impressive, etc. And I do think his amazing speed is a weapon. When I watched the final, I have to say, that I was impressed with his play. I am curious as if you thought that he really had nothing that should trouble Gasquet with the form that David was in during the final. Imo, it was the best he has played since he beat Rafa. I think Ferrer is a tougher opponent than he is sometimes given credit for. And as for his being waxed by Nole at the USO- his game frankly began to fall apart while Nole brought his up. And if they only allowed players who had beaten Nole be allowed- then I guess it is just Rafa and Roger. For all of David's bad losses- he has had some very good wins and is not usually a tough out for players. But I can see we are not going to agree on this. I just don't look at Ferrer as not being deserving of going to Shanghai if he has won three tournaments this year, had some big wins, has improved his game and is at his highest ranking ever. If tennis were all about who has the most talent and not about heart- then it should just be played on paper imo. If a player accumulates points and has wins while someone who is deemed as a superior talent but does not have the guts or heart- sorry, I feel the first player deserves to be where he is because of his effort. And Shanghai is a reward for the whole year- not a reward for folks who may be the best technical indoor hard court players out there but have not had the wins to warrent a spot. Then why have it be a year race? I am not surprised he pulled out of Stockholm- Madrid starts next week.

LOL. David Ferrer is as injured as I am. And at the moment I'm getting ready to go run a few miles on my treadmill...
He basically admitted on his own site that he was just skipping Stockholm because he was tired and he wanted to be as ready as possible for Madrid.
Hamstring injury...*bwah* ;D
