Davydenko needs to break serve right now.
Whoa. Those are some pink shoes that Lacko is wearing.
MARDY FISH IS WEARING NORMAL SOCKS!!!!!! (Sorry, I felt that was deserving of yelling.)

Heh! It was!
I'd really like Roddick to move this along so i can at least catch a glimpse of Venus before i go to bed.

You know you're in trouble when it feels like the middle of the night but is actually only 9:30 or so MST...

At least I have the excuse that it is quite late here and just realized that I've been watching sports for twelve straight hours. I'm going to bed. I hope Fer doesn't lose while I'm fast asleep tonight since *sob* Davydenko looks like he's on his way out right now.
falafaclese, it looks like Roddick is trying to accommodate you--and with the same scoreline as Roger. Lots of breadsticks going on right now.

Glad to see Monfils pulled it out.
Does that mean it'll be an early night for you, tiki?

Oh, Davy, you break my heart ... and my bracket. I had him losing to Fed in the semi's. Sigh.
I had the pleasure of watching Roger's match online (with Mats W doing superb commentary for Eurosport), and Roger was playing as well as I have ever seen him. I hope they'll show more of it on tape on US TV because it was a joy to see tennis that beautiful.

I'm probably here for the duration, fala -- okay, maybe not that long, but I won't be going to bed anytime soon. Damn you, AO! I can't quit you this early!

Gael won? From 2 sets down? Good for him!
Roger looked in excellent form. I'm really glad I got the ESPN360 since my TV was showing Roddick.
my thought exactly harry!

So yeah, I'm still up (and drinking some Australian Shiraz to boot -- who's with me??) -- had to laugh at the description of Errani at 5'4" as small. I know that's small for athletes, but it's average overall, right? I remember Hingis (and more recently Henin) described as small, and aren't they both 5'7" or so? That's how tall I am, and I don't feel short!
On a non-personal note, I was so looking forward to Venus and her shocking new outfits, and...meh. Shiny, yes. Shocking? No. Cute, and I like the color and the earrings, but I'm not shocked. Come on, Venus -- freak us out!
ETA: It's nice to see that Pam is drunk already. I'd hate for any of us to be alone in that...

I dozed off and woke up to see Venus on the court. Not a fan of the dress. She doesn't seem to care if she has to tug at her outfit after every point, but I find it annoying to watch. It's good to see her moving well, and not wearing any tape though.
Not sure how much longer I'll last . . .

Yeah, it seems like Venus has a mission in life: to create tennis dresses that require constant tugging. It would drive me mad, personally, but at least she has the legs for it.

Hingis is 5'7", Henin is just under 5'6".

Venus actually looks pretty good.

Although she was using some kind of inhaler during one of the changeovers.

Maybe Venus needs the inhaler from all that effort spent on pulling her dress down. I don't mind the dress, I actually think it's pretty, but for fuck's sake, she hasn't figured out how to design a working outfit after all these years? I'm no fashion plate personally, but this is why I like the basic outfits that players like Henin wear.
* Edit for a double comma. I'm sure the Australian wine had nothing to do with that.
