Wow. I do not feel good about my choices on the men's side. I decided to go with my heart since my head stinks at this. Go Fer!

I always go with my heart; picked Roddick and Serena to win. I have Del Potro and Sharapova as my other two finalists. Yeah I know, not likely. It's always fun though; thanks falafaclese for setting these up!

I have Nadal to the quarters - I was debating between 4th round and quarters but I don't trust Ferrer to beat him again.
I love how many more are going with their hearts this time, instead of blindly picking Roger. Though I did as well, having him lose in the semis to Roddick.
tiki - yes, totally insane. But a mad genius if any of those three things happen! Though I'd be happy in the case of Safin if he really did knock off del Potro (nothing against him specifically) but I was scared to pick Marat to win his first match!

Yeah, that was my theory. Ferrer always seems to get overwhelmed by the US Open at some point no matter how well his season has been to that point.
And ha! to what you said mooncreek about Marat in the first round. I think I spent 2 minutes on that one alone--and then decided I wanted him to win the match so I'd pick him.

I just went through my picks for the men, and my first coherent thought occurred when I saw that Monaco and del Potro were playing first round: "Oh, no. Poor Chesty!"
Oh, and I'm being very orthodox: I'm picking Roger and Murray in the final. But I have Verdasco taking out Roddick and playing Roger in the semi's.

Oh poo- my gals picks are just in the main pool not in our private one. My men's picks are in ours and the big one.
I have Feds beating Delpo and Elena beating Serena in the finals in this one. (In the main ATP site pool I have Murray winning the whole thing.) The Delpo reaching the final may not happen- but I thought that it is a slim possibility so I chose it.
harry In the battle of Tandil- I had to chose against Pico. Lurves him but I think Delpo could progress further in the tournament by far so I had to go with him,. Even though Pico said JM is like a little brother to him.
In my hopeful pick- I have Rafa making it to the semis. I was tempted to have him lose in the quarters but heart won.
I did not pick Nando making it to the semis but that would be a neat mix up.

chesty, If you'd still like to enter your picks in our private pool let me know, I think there is a way that I can give you access after the deadline.
ETA: I think I figured it out, but you'd have to send my your picks somehow, because apparently I'd have to enter the picks for you and then transfer it to you.

falafaclese, I need you to give us an update on the men BEFORE the first round ends, because I, shock of shocks am leading at the moment, but all my picks playing this afternoon are going down, so my ranking will be nosediving any moment. I want to see my name in lights while I still have the chance.
