2009! Bracket pool (UPCOMING: US OPEN)

Slow day at work today, when I checked TourneyTopia and saw that they're now allowing people to setup pools for Wimbledon, so here we are! You can't actually submit your picks until tomorrow morning when the draw is announced, however. It's the same system as was used for the last pool during the French Open so if you registered for that you can use the same username and password as before.

Thanks for setting up the pools! I just filled out my brackets. Earlier this morning the WTA bracket was all messed up; they had Sharapova as the 2nd and 3rd seeds and Kuznetsova as the 4th and 5th seeds. Thankfully, someone fixed the error.

I submitted under the name "pv" and am sure I'm going to be terrible. I can't help but let sentiment sometimes override rationality in my picks (especially with Gasquet who I honestly feel might not even make it past the first round).

Okay, I just powered through the men's bracket and came up with two ridiculous semi's: Federer-Wawrinka and Nadal-Cilic. Hmm. I may have to re-think a few of my choices.

Ok - I'm in! And apparently stuck in 2003/4. Federer-Roddick and the Williams sisters.... Hmmm. Nostalgic much??

Yeah, I'm not convinced by my own picks. I've gone through with who i think will win in each match, but it just gives me some unlikely later matchups. I had half a mind to pick Tipsy over Roddick. And I've gone with a crazy notion that Fat Dave will actually pull through to the second week. Madness!

I just entered (men's side only) -- there's a license message, something about needing more. I've never done a pool, so I have no idea what that means.

And, bwahahaha, my picks are beyond ridiculous. I have Safin beating Djokovic, and Youzhny in the final. Yes, I'm apparently insane.

ETA: I did the women's side...no license message. I seem to be listed in both pools. Now the only thing left is to see whether I'll manage to come in last place in both!

I got the "license" messages for both the women's and men's draws, too... That didn't happen when I joined the two RG pools, so I'm not sure what that means.

Picking who would come through the Chakvetadze quarter was an adventure.

Aw, crap, I got those license messages when I signed up for RG. I think everyone after the first 5 people get it. My points weren't added up by the system at first but the problem was resolved after a couple of days. ilsabing set up the last RG pool and I remember asking about the problem...ilsabing if you're out there did you have to do anything to fix it or did it resolve itself?

It resolved itself but not until a couple of days into the tourny. In the end everybody's bracket was scored. I wrote asking about it and never heard back.

And, I'm in as well.

ETA: I didn't get the license messages when I did my brackets, and I did one late last night (Sat).

I just decided to play along! I'm not sure how well I'll do but it looks like fun.

I'm not sure what is happening but I did the women's pool first and then when I re-logged in to do the men's it said I "had" to subscribe to the Tennis Channel newsletter. So is it the same pool? I can access both when I login though.

I definitely made some emotional picks - but we'll see what happens.
