I'm here! That was some third set! Azarenka made a lot of mistakes but Radwanska sure took advantage. Good for her.

Hi, boringmember! That was an amazing match. If you'd told me there would be a 6-0 set, I would not have predicted the winner. Radwanska has an amazing game.

Hey, GrandSlamGuru! I was cooking during the match (did anyone know that you could put tahini in soup? and has anyone ever cooked with Middle Eastern freekeh wheat?) so I missed a lot of points. I would love to see the whole thing from start to finish.
I have been gone from tennis for a while -- what's the scoop on Dimitrov?

OMG, Radwanska was a-fucking-mazing! I haven't seen anticipation and great gets like that since ... well, I don't know.
I, too, am so happy for Stan W. These situations where a player late in his career is able to make that big step from very good, top-20 type player to one who can challenge the very top really warm my heart. I also particularly love Stan's game. His shot-making and strokes are gorgeous.
(Hi, tiki. Long time no see.)

harry!!! It's like a fucking reunion here -- I'll bring the peanut butter Sriracha cookies!
We all know I'd like to see Fed win another title. I like Radwanska too. A girl can dream!

Absolutely shocked to see that Radwanska won. I stopped watching after the second set when it looked like Azarenka was dominating. I expected her to steamroll through the 3rd. Very happy at the outcome as we will see a new Australian Open champ. Any of the four that are left would be fine with me although I expect to see Radwanska and Li Na in the final.
Go Roger! Saw the last two sets this morning. Got a little nervous for him in the 3rd set but he pulled it out. I hope he beats Nadal. I don't dislike Nadal but I would really like to see Federer win.
ETA - What was the Radwanska/Azarenka handshake like? I know those two haven't excatly been the best of friends the past few years.

It always surprises me how much I want Roger to win even when he's playing someone I love like Andy. I was getting quite nervous when Roger couldn't serve out the match in the third and then couldn't convert that 1-0 game in the fourth.
Kinda love that ESPN are billing the Roger/Rafa semi as Federer vs. Nadal XXXIII. Roman numerals make everything better.
So sad Max and Mikhail lost in the quarters but now I will firmly back my second favorite doubles team--Llodra/Mahut.

Peanut butter Sriracha cookies? I'm in!
Both Rafa and Roger had to work hard for their wins. I'm not familiar with Dmitrov but I was very impressed with his play.

Because of the time differenc and being completely work swamped, I've only been able to catch bits and pieces.
I'm thrilled for Dimitrov. He's just adorable. He went out there to win and had his chances. Rafa's experience and grit is what got him the win. Give Dimitrov another year of maturity and he'd have won that match.
I'm unsurprised by Federer beating Murray. I'm looking forward to the Roger/Rafa match. When did we last have a good one between them? Cincy? Rafa isn't playing his best right now, but I suspect he'll get into his hitting-to-Roger's-backhand groove. I mean, why change what has worked for so long? I'd like it to be a really good match. I'm not as anti-Roger as I used to be, but he's still not my favorite. Congrats to him and Mirka on the impending family addition though.
On the other hand, I was THRILLED to see Stan finally beat Nole. It's not secret that I can't stand Nole. He has matured and isn't pulling that same dickhead crap and he's distanced himself from his horrorshow of a family. I just cant's start liking him though. Stan, on the other hand, deserves to break out of the long shadow of Federer. It's a shame that he's always been seen as second tier in comparison to Roger. It's the same with guys like Ferrer when compared to Nadal. I do think Stan has a better chance of winning a major than Ferrer though. Berdych? Eh...he just strikes me as lucky.
So. I'm hoping for a Stan v. Rafa final. I love me some Rafa, but wouldn't be heartbroken if Stan won. He deserves it.
The way the women's draw has turned out, I'd actually be thrilled with any of the semi-finalists winning. The only thing I don't want to see is break after break after break while they all go headcase. Please, give us a strong women's game, both players in it, mentally tough and playing their best.

Hi everyone!
I couldn't watch the Roger/Murray match - got in from the latest NY snowstorm after midnight due to my schedule and 3AM is about my limit for staying up - but like tiki and lt I am so happy for Roger. I read somewhere that people are making reference to "Fedberg" ha ha. I did record the match on my Tivo so will try to watch it before the next round.
I am surprised Vika lost but really rooting for Li Na now. Hope it happens. and hoping for a Roger win, why not?

Why not, indeed. And now I feel silly for bitching about my 3-1/2 hour commute home yesterday (I left work early so I got home at my usual time but had an extra 2-1/2 hours lost on the bus).
For the men, I'm having fun figuring out how I'll watch the final: Roger vs. Stan--I'll wake up at 3 (-ish) Roger vs. Berdych--I'll wake up early, but probably not for the very beginning Rafa vs. Stan--I'll watch the repeat on ESPN2 that they're airing at 9am ET Rafa vs. Berdych--I'll catch some highlights at some point during the day
So, for my health I should hope Roger loses in the semis but I can never root for that and I'd rather just be tired.
I'm not quite sure what I'll do about the women. I like them all but I'm not waking up at 3 am for them and I have a class at 10am on Saturday. I guess I'll just make sure my TiVo has some space.

Li Na, whose movement has always been impressive to me, has really found another level this year. She is almost absolutely never off-balance or out of position when she hits the ball. And when she hits the ball, her strokes are so sharp, it seems almost unnatural. I may be overstating, because clearly I'm a fan, but her athleticism is stunning me right now.
