Ouanna seems very likeable, so I'm glad that he won, and I've been kind of "meh" about Marat lately, even as I have totally become infatuated with his sister. Have I said I think she's fantastic? Anyway, I was surprised that Ouanna was that old. He looks like a teenager to me, but maybe part of that is that I've known about the 4 musketeers for a few years now, and I just heard about him last year.
I'm kind of bummed that I voluntarily missed most of that match, I was watching other courts during that time, and for some reason the fact that Marat/Ouanna was going on so long didn't intrigue me like it usually does. I think part of it was that as soon as i saw that the third set was staying close, I assumed that Marat would lose. I heard from the commentators afterward that it was actually a good match.
Venus is giving me the shakes right now. I knew that her second round match was going to be tough. I like Lucie, but I can't root for her over Venus.

Okay, for such an ass on court. . .
From Roddick's Twitter:
. . . so good off.
So, for tomorrow: Monaco vs. Tsonga looks the most intriguing. I'll be keeping an eye on Roger ('natch) and Feli/Fer in doubles as well.

Another long nap, another late night, and this time I've poured myself a glass of wine, so please, someone join me! I'm hoping to catch at least a little Federer before dawn (is Acasuso the vaguely Affleckish Argentinian?).
I totally agree about Roddick being really entertaining off-court and absolutely impossible on. That's not enough to get me to follow his tweets, though.

I'm really impressed by Alexa Glatch, even though she's down a set right now. She seems very steady and mature.

I hadn't even heard of Glatch! But yes, she's looking like an interesting prospect.
I'm done with Jankovic; she just bores me at this point. Instead of oxygen, I think she lives on drama. Funny how drama = dull. YMMV of course.
Can Bartoli just hurry up and lose?

Garbin has a lovely backhand. And Bartoli is out of shape. Again.

Bartoli has actually looked fitter over the past couple of months to me than she has in the past. She seems to have lost some weight. I didn't get to see any of that match, but I expect the slower conditions today haven't been kind to her.

I haven't seen much (any!) tennis in months, so you're probably right about Bartoli, f'clese. She just looked a bit heavier than I remember, and was gasping for breath a lot.

I hope Venus doesn't have her customary second set letdown in this next set, she can't afford it today.

I'm not able to see Williams/Safarova (is anyone else?) but it seems competitive in the third set. Meanwhile Acasuso seems to be holding his own against Federer. I can't imagine being able to stay up for the whole match, damn it!
(Hey, Mpol, how are you doing?)
ETA: TTC has gone to the Venus match...just when Feds/Affleck got interesting. Why am I not surprised?
ETA2: and back to the Fed/Acufleck tiebreak. I would have whiplash if not for that glass of wine.

Geez one match point saved by Venus. I can't take this.
ETA: Whew! I knew this was going to be a tough one, and Lucie didn't disappoint. She looks like a 12-year-old but she knocks the shit out of that ball. I wonder what would have happened if they hadn't called the match for darkness yesterday?
I don't want to go to work now, I'm too exhausted.

I hear you, f'clese. Freelancing is difficult and stressful and all that, but at least I don't have that problem facing me.
On the other hand, Feds is not exactly looking inspiring...

Bartoli looks fitter than she has in a while even during her Wimby run. She's one of these people who always looks exhausted, whether it's her demeanor or her dad's work out regime.
I'm happy that Vee pulled it out and am bummed that Glatch couldn't take it to a third after being up in the second...

I can't "watch". Ugh. I'm the fucking kiss of death anyway. Up a set and on serve when I turned the scoreboard on.... and now? Downhill....

Wow Acufleck (heh) took the second set. I'm here at the office scoreboard watching.
Yay Vee!
