Ahhh, i'm too excited. That's all i can manage for now! (Oh and i'm doing a bit of the old mass mailing over with the TWOP thread members, so if you get a PM from me there, I'm doing everyone in the thread, so ignore the redundant PM.)

I was going to set my alarm for 5am so I could get up to catch the very first point, but then I thought that would be too obnoxious, plus I didn't want to wake up the BF. So imagine my surprise when my eyes just popped open by themselves this morning and I looked at the clock to see that it was like 5:15am. My body is a finely tuned machine that knows what's important. Tennis trumps sleep!

It does! If only I didn't have to go into the office.

Saw the start of the Ivano match. LOVE this tournament. It is brilliant.

Yay. Grand Slam tennis again. I'm excited and hopeful that TSN2 will show a lot of it this year.

Oh Momo. You broke my heart and my bracket today. I was really hoping she would carry her recent momentum into the French. I had her making it to the 4th round. Oh well. I like ALG, and I'm glad she also seems to be making her way back up the rankings, so I'm not completely gutted.
On the men's side, Ivo Karlovic served a record breaking 55 aces today, and still managed to lose the match. I like him, but that's just disgusting.

I was really hoping this was Momo's year to do a little something but Nice win for 5th set for Ounna (sp) and Hewitt. And I left the Johanssen match in the middle but it was supposed to be compelling in a train wreck sort of way. Gilbert & Co were saying something about her family's disappointment being palatable to all, they were moving around... That sounds nightmarish...

WUT? Momo lost. Oh lord. I need to go look at the women's results don't i.
Ok, i've looked. Damn you, Amelia, you killed my bracket. And like Fala, my heart too. Glad to see Safin not going out in the first round, and i'm always happy when Hewitt is scrapping his way to a victory. Other than that, today's lineup wasn't that interesting to me. Oh and Murray did better than i expected, a win yes, but i thought it would be a tad tighter than it was.
I spy an Andre Pavel in the draw, up against Haas. That pleases me, i could have sworn he'd retired. I like seeing some of the old guard still kicking around.

I caught the Safin match on TTC. McEnroe was calling it. I think he hates Safin. He was rabbiting on about how dare they put Safin on the Chartier, no idea why they'd want that, blah blah. Safin frustrates me as much as the next fan, but John, seriously, shut your piehole. Safin draws a crowd.
Speaking of useless pieholes, Brad Gilbert was asked if he thought Safin would retire with a lot of regrets for matches lost. Gilbert answered in the negative saying that Safin has had a great time and probably walks away without regrets. I hate agreeing with Gilbert.
Safin's comments on Santoro are a hoot. Hopefully they are up on youtube.
Away from Safin, (can you tell I caught that match in it's entirety?). Karlovic. GAH. 55 aces = total loss for him. It is disgusting. And kinda of useless. Gulbis still looks like a lesbian gym teacher in some lights and a twelve year old in others. He played well against Querry.
Simon looked good at some points and all out of sorts in others. I'm loving his unruly hair and and dodgy beard. Makes him 10x cuter.
The Gimeldouche is on ESPN2. Just to warn you.
Darren Cahill is so much better in the booth than PMac. JMac and PMac are all about building up the Americans, talking about them at every turn. Cahill focuses on the match at hand.
As the defending champ, Ivanovic is such a nonfactor. I still hate her bubble skirts.
No one has mentioned Shriekypova in the draw. I know expectations are low for her, but she was number 1 for a long time.
I'm setting the alarm for 545am tomorrow. At that time, Dinara should be in the throws of her midmatch meltdown, preparing to gut it out. Then I can catch at least part of Nadal before heading to the office.
Oh...yay for Almagro, Verdasco and Ferrer!

They mentioned her on ESPN2. Either Mary Carillo/Pmac during the Hewitt/Karlovic match or MJ Fernandez/Enberg during the Ivanovic match. They said that the conditions (hotter earlier than usual and pretty dry) may help her and her shoulder as opposed to the heavier conditions when it rains.
ESPN2 is entirely skipping Monday. And I don't have TSN or can't access espn360.com; this sucks.

Hey! I'm back! Like anyone missed me, but still...damn, does real life get in the way sometimes...
So I'm trying to get back into tennis again (baseball owns me), even though I don't much like clay. I caught some of Ivanovic's match yesterday...ugh. She looks slow and unconfident, and that dress still sucks, and no way will she repeat, IMO. I'm pulling for Safina. Men's side...shit. Fed has lost his mojo (please god don't let him check with Andy Roddick on that) and I can't see anyone but Nadal winning this.
Anyway...missed you guys and hope you're all well!

Yeah, so I'm double-posting...what a spanking that Safina gave to Keothavong. And with that horrible asymmetric-mummy-boob dress, well-deserved. May all the mummy-boob dress chickies lose.

Welcome back tiki! I figured you had had enough of us. Dinara really did deal out a beatdown today. I felt bad for Anne K because she's been playing so well lately, I thought she'd do better. ESPN2 is entirely skipping Monday. And I don't have TSN or can't access espn360.com; this sucks. ESPN360 drives me crazy. I can log on at work because our ISP is Verizon, but I have Comcast at home, and you can't log on with Comcast yet. Sometimes I log on at work on my laptop, and if I keep the player open and just hibernate my pc, it still works when I get home. It's weird. I read somewhere that it will start working on Comcast later this summer. TTC is such a lifesaver. PS. channelsurfing.net has pretty good feeds.
