Dushevina/Wozniacki is some stellar tennis. They are going to have to call the match soon because of darkness. Really excellent shots.
I like the up close stuff too. I like the short segments. I don't want a 15 minute segment on someone when I could be watching live tennis.
I have completely fallen in love with the pink of Rafa's shirt, as I've had a chance to watch the first set. In fact, I had my feet propped up on my coffee table and the pink of my toenail polish exactly matches his shirt on my screen. Chris Bowers said he thinks the pink will look fantastic against the green courts at Queens. He's right.
If you're not watching Dushevina/Wozniacki right now, you should be. They are headed probably headed to a second set tiebreaker.

I turned on the TV and lo and behold there is still tennis after 3pm EST
Wozniaki is trying to send it to a third
Not particularly stellar tennis but these nail biters against the day light always suck me in...
ETA Great minds think alike I wasn't trying to contradict you, just similar same time phrase!
ETA2 lipstick you had more faith than me because I didn't know if CaroW was going to do it! That ref earned his money tonight.

Games 6-9 of this set were incredible tennis. I can't believe Dushevina just did that. Set point, Dushevina stops the point thinking the ball is out and it was good. Set Wozniacki. Match continued to tomorrow. ETA:  It's one of those things when there are 5-10 great points and it makes the so so games look better. We are great minds! |

I don't like Maria but i loved that ALLEZ moment. Awesome. Admin- how do we add avatars? I would love to add an avatar of imo the sexiest man in tennis (Juan Monaco- he just makes me gahhhhhhh) but can't figure out how to do it. , go into your profile and select modify profile. There should be the option to set an avatar there. I think you can simply set your own off a hosted URL. |

Does anyone here have Direct TV? They're advertising 6 channels of tennis... I want to know if it's 6 channels of complete matches or 6 channels of "now let's see what's happening on court 6". And if they still focus their attention on Americans and/or big names.

They've only been doing it for the last few years, and now I would go crazy without it. The coverage is actually of certain courts. One channel per court that actually has tv cameras. They show the matches in their entirety regardless of who is playing. I love it. Besides being able to watch 5 different courts, if I want to see the scores of any of the non-televised matches, or if I want to check out the draw, I can do that using my remote since it's an interactive thing. And the mix channel where you can see what's going on in each match being covered at the same time. It's great. |

Wow, that sounds great. Maybe it's a good thing I don't have it; I don't know how I'd convince myself to go to work. (Sounds like you need a huge TV to watch that mix channel; I am looking for an excuse to buy one...)
I don't know who to root for on the women's side. I'd love for Safina to get a slam, but I'd be happy for Venus to final get a French.
How about Serena's "backing off" of her comments about who's really #1? I don't think she backed off her comments at all; she just phrased it differently. I want to like her and I try to root for her, but she just rubs me the wrong way with her comments. It sucks (to me) to have these players whose game I like to watch but I can't be happy when they win because they just tick me off.

On the DirecTV coverage, they even show the court when no one is out there playing. During rain delays, you can just watch the rain. Some of the courts don't have commentary. I LURVE it. It's great because if I'm at work, and see say...Tipsarevic/Lopez about to start on Court 1, I can log into my DTV account and order my DVR to record that channel. It totally rocks.
One of the matches today had a solo Brit commentator. He was getting a bit snarky and I remember laughing at something he said about Roddick.
The interactive piece rocks as well. DirecTV pisses me off completely about a few things, but I forgive them a lot for their slam coverage.
I did a google image shirt of "Rafael Nadal pink". He owns multiple pink shirts, even a pastel or two. But that was back when he had some serious terrorist hair.
I'm liking Feds shorter cut.

I ony saw the tie breaker from the third set and after watching that I couldn't believe Felopee went on to win that match. He looked ready to collapse. Might I just add that in high definition, Felopee's eyes are absolutely stunning.

It seems like all the darkhorses/players with momentum on the women's side are losing early: Mauresmo, Schnyder, Pennetta, Sabine Lisicki and Kanepi

I can tell it is the RG- Wimbledon swing as I am aiming to get up around 5 am so I can watch some of the matches. Delpo is one of the first matches of the day and I want to see his form. Looking forward to listening to Radio RG at work although I think one of you said that Araz is no longer with it?  |
