Eh, my boyfriend has much better abs. They're hidden underneath a beer gut, but I know for a fact they are much nicer.
Also, I don't think Ferrer is the least gorgeous Spaniard: that would be Nadal. I love everything about Nadal except his looks.
Soderling has really turned on the power with huge flat shots. He kind of reminds me of an inferior version of Thomas Enquist.
ETA: TTC has stopped covering the new matches. I assume that ESPN has reserved the rights to Sharapova and Murray. Damn, now I have to find a new feed.

I'm not a fan of Tipsy's so I'm ecstatic that Andy was able to come back.
Oooh, Soderling called for the trainer up 6-5 in the fourth set with him being up two sets.
Damn. Man, the French are booing David like crazy.
eta: I'm now watching the archived Verdasco/Almagro match since I cannot find a Murray/Tipsy stream and the commentator says, as Fer is coming out of the tunnel "speaking of hot." Somehow, I don't think he meant that quite the way it sounded.

Why did Tipsy retire? And why were they booing David?

I was just going to ask about Tipsy. Why did he retire?
As for David--he got a little, shall we say, emotional at the end of the match (broke his racquet) and the crowd got very down on him. I can see booing someone who doesn't put through a good effort or berates the crowd but getting upset because you've lost seems like a stupid reason to hate on a player.
(now that the match is over I'm back to Feli and Fer for my avatar.)

Aww, it sounds like he was mad at himself. I agree that doesn't seem right to boo him.

Azarenka is losing her mind out there. As usual.

The French crowd is hard to understand sometimes. They seem to have a bit of a "kick you while you're down" mentality at times.
I'm watching CSN and Azarenka. The difference between these two players is pretty amazing. Azarenka is wasting a great deal of energy flailing and grimacing every time she makes an error. CSN on the other hand is cool as ice, and is playing a much smarter game while Azarenka just bashes away.

I know he's not liked by many here but I have to ask. Was Djokovic shown at all on TTC today? They already have some of today's matches up in the archives but nothing from him but his 1st round.

I don't recall seeing Djokovic while I was watching this morning. Of course he only played a set and was in complete control. I've actually noticed a startling lack of coverage of his matches, whereas Murray is all over my screen when he plays. Kinda odd since he's had the best clay court season aside from Rafa and is a major contender to get to the final.
I just decided my dream final is Nadal-Tsonga ;D its a long shot because clay is not Tsonga's fave surface, but he's got a good record against Djokovic who is in his quarter so maybe he's got a chance to face Fed in the semis.

Yeah, we've been light on Beak's coverage here too. I guess he's had a relatively smooth run so far, so they've gone with more dramatic matches.

Darren Cahill during the Nadal v Hewitt match says that Nadal doesn't like Soderling - does anyone know why?

Oh...let's rehash the Nadal/Soderling Wimby incident. At Wimbledon I believe two years ago (2007? I think?), Nadal was playing Soderling I think in the 2nd or 3rd round. The weather was massive suckage. So much so that it actually took 5 days to complete the match. A few days, they went out and played a game or two, then went back inside to wait out the rain, only to leave 8 hours later. sports.espn.go.com/sports/tennis/wimbledon07/news/story?id=2925554 Here is the ESPN article on the match. It says Nadal held up the ball as if to say "Ready now" but actually Nadal had forgotten to signal "New balls" to Soderling. Soderling then went for the wedge pick. Since that time, they've played probably once or twice with Nadal absolutely creaming Soderling the last time on clay, 6-1, 6-0. It was a merciless demolition by a bulldozing Rafa. ETA: After that incident, there was word that Roger didn't like Soderling either and that Soderling is generally unpopular and jerky with the other players. I am probably downplaying what I've heard about the vast dislike of him because I can't cite sources.

It probably goes back to last years match at Wimbledon when Soderling, feeling that Nadal was taking too long between points, mocked Nadal's ass picking, big time. It made me laugh.

The French have traditionally hated on the Spanish. They have hated Rafa from his start five years ago and they have hated Spaniards before and after. Kind of sad.
In a little RG special Tommy Robredo was asked about something and he said that he wished th French did not hate the Spaniards so much. Kind of sad that they make a nation feel that way.....
