I'm home from work today so I can watch semis... if it weren't for the tennis I'd still be asleep! In Canada, they're airing it live on TSN.
Grudgingly, I had to admit that Sod is kinda hot in a weaselly kind of way.

atdhe.net has my favorite FOXsports3 up. I missed the first set (yeah, getting to work 45 minutes early is one thing, an hour and 45 minutes is quite another) and I'm not happy that Soderling is up a set. I'll have to pay attention to how the two are playing.

Damn, Sod's serve out wide is insane.

It seems as though every year Rafa's knee problems get worse, earlier. He really needs to work his schedule better because he can't afford to play as many matches and tournaments as he does with his style of play. I hope he'll back to full strength for Wimbledon.
Looks like this set may be over.

Argh! This is not going the way I'd like. Even if Soderling has to win I was hoping Gonzo could really beat him up. Not happening.

Soderling looks like a Danish asshole (that sounds like a weird sex act) I carried on with (notice I didn't say date) years ago. Watching him is all kinds of disconcerting for me. If he wins this match, and the whole thing I'd be pissy as a Fed fan. But he will have deserved it. He has played these matches like a man on a serious mission and even if Rafa was having undisclosed knee problems the rest of the wins are quality as well. |

If Sod wins, yes, he will deserve it. I think back to before the Rafa/Roger run when it seemed that every year would have a streaky player in the final.
Doesn't mean I have to like it. For that matter, I would be afraid for Roger (and especially Del Potro if a miracle occurs later) because he really could be a Grand Slam champ. He really wouldn't care if it is Roger in the final.

The thing I'm noticing about Soderling in this match, and it bodes ill for any opponent, is that he isn't having problem serving a good game after almost getting a break in the previous return game. Just like consolidating a break, it's hard to serve a quick game after losing the opportunity for a break.

I'm just chiming in to add my own "Fuck You" to NBC and other networks that continue to have little regard for true tennis fans. WTF?
I'm afraid that if Sod makes the final he will win it all since he's under no pressure.
Did anyone read the Lendl interview in the UK's Times(online)? He still really dislikes JohnnyMc and Connors. I always thought he was scary, although a good player.

Hmmm, both players seem to be slowing down a bit and breathing hard in this fourth set.
eta: Heh, I thought the chair ump was calling the line judge over to reprimand him for not calling shots well enough. Turns out they're just disagreeing on which mark is which. And, uh oh, Gonzo's going gonzo. Why I could never be a line judge--I wouldn't be able to stop myself from saying "look, you little pissy baby, deal with the call."
