I don't know how Dorkgirl found me (I haven't posted on the tennis board in ages!) but many thanks! Same name as before and I'm glad someone found us a new home!
Favorite Players: All I need is Rafa & Serena and I'm good to go! I'm always bummed when they get knocked out of a tournament.
I like Roger fine, but I'd like him more is someone would force the man to break a sweat and challenge him throughout the season!
I've come around on Shrieky (hee), in that I don't hate her but see her as a tennis robot w/ no feeling or personality.
Off the top of my head the only players I hate are Henin, Hingis and Lleyton. But I'm sure there's more. ;D
Ohh, and Capriati too (thnx sunkissed)!
Random rant: I miss the old TWoP! Way too many mods and unnecessary changes. And don't get me started on the scrolling left to right problem! Grrr.

Hello, I just wanted to say thanks to Dorkgirl for letting me know about this site. I'd been checking TWOP the past few weeks and noticed the lack of posts. I hadn't been logged in during that time and didn't get the PM til now. My name is the same as it was on TWOP. It is so nice to be on a board without the the ridiculous rules TWOP has been inserting.
I've been watching tennis since the early nineties. I remember watching the great Wimbly finals between Edberg and Becker and the great clashes between Seles and Graf. I don't really have a favorite player. My allegiance seems to switch frequently, sometimes during a single match or point.
I'm not sure how much I'll end up posting, but I'll be sure to lurk often.

Many thanks to Tikigirl for letting me know about the site! I'm the same Curlywhirly from the tennis thread on TwoP.
I played tennis as a kid but didn't become a true fan of the sport until about 3 years ago. I developed a passing interest when this little kid named Martina Hingis who was about my age was suddenly winning everything in sight and dissing people left and right. The emergence of the Williams sisters caught my attention a bit more. But I credit the Serena-Sharapova Australian Open semi in 2005 for making me a complete raving tennis lunatic.
Some of my favorite players are Venus, Serena, Seles, Hingis post-comeback, Ivanovic, Dementieva and Golovin. I have very high expectations for talented teens Agnes Svavay and Tamira Paszek as well. As for the men, I love Rafa, Roger (I swear I like both! but probably pull a tiny bit more for Rafa during their match-ups), Baghdatis, Murray, Nalbandian (not so much now during his lazy phase), Guga, Agassi, Youzhny, and the man who gives me heart palpitations, MARAT SAFIN.

Hi. I just got the PM from TWOP today when I logged in. I had just found their tennis site a little while ago.
From the looks of this board I like it. No flaming is always a good thing.

I've read that blog and sorry, I really don't agree that the winner of this year's Wimbledon should have an asterisk over his name. That was definitely one of the more contentious posts I remember reading from earlier this year.

Hey everyone, I'm late but thanks for the heads up.
I'm Laurgan, same name, from TWoP. I don't post that much but it's nice to have somewhere to talk about tennis if I want to.
Favorite male players:
Davydenko (I don't care if he match fixes, tanks, steals candy from babies...I have irrational love for him and I don't know why)
Rafa Nadal (love his determination and his tennis)
Andy Murray (he sulks, he curses, and plays wonderful tennis)
Feliciano Lopez (he's so pretty and he actually has talent)
Federer (if he's not playing the above players)
I'm not as into women's tennis but here are my favorite female players:

I'm trying to curb my obsession with men's tennis because I realised that when I cried after Rafa lost the Wimbledon final and wished that Fed had sprained a pinky or something I knew I was waaaaay too invested. lol
