Yeah, I read that somewhere a few weeks ago, and I was incredulous. I mean they're really going to base a 10-part miniseries around him? That sounds horrible. Also, when is he even going to find time to film all that, since I imagine he'll need to be in almost every scene? The only way this could possibly work is if each episode of the miniseries is 45 seconds long.

Exactly, f'clese. Also, given his brother is in it as well, I'm thinking that the Djokovics are bankrolling this piece of cinematic genius.

If this movie really does come to pass- I will be tempted to find a copy. Just to see how the hair does in period piece. I saw snippets of the movie that Gulbis made with his mom when he was young- boy was he toothy. ETA- Ohmigawd- I looked up the king that Nole is going to play and there actually is a resemblance.

Hewitt had hip surgery again and is out until the clay season. Hip problems don't ever seem to go away.

Wow, what the hell? I'd heard absolutely no talk of Hewitt being injured - not entirely a surprise since he's neither American nor top 10, but still. That's too bad, although it doesn't sound as extensive as before if he's coming back in a few months? I don't know how these guys do it, multiple surgeries and yet they keep at it.

I had no idea that Hewitt was injured either. Guess that Phiten necklace was not doing its job. Sorry Tiki, but I hope Bode gets creamed in the first round of qualies. I don't care about him one way or the other but "instructor at a summer camp" does not a professional tennis player make. Oh man, it isn't just Bode. It's any tennis player out there. This is the stupidest thing I've ever heard: Are they trying to find the "Kurt Warner was a bag boy" success story? You know I couldn't resist the video of Feli meeting the lion cub. Here it is for anyone interested. Have no clue why the sound goes out when Feli talks but looking at that little squirmy cub makes me gooshy all over.

I just like to look at him, that's all. I'm shallow that way!

Gotta side with lt I hope that Bode does not get through. He has always acting like he so much better than the other skiers out there with his "tool cool for school" attitude. Ugh- I would hate to see his douchetastic attitude and complete disregard for his sport bleed into tennis. He would probably think he was better than any of the other tennis players the same way he does in skiing. Can't.stand.him! I would rather have Ocho Cinco make it- lol.
Sorry- there are a rare few athletes that really make my lip curl in dislike in terms of their attitude and arrogance- and Bode is one of them.
Hard to belive that it is already time for more tournaments. I am rooting for Ferru in Jo-burg. I would love to see him get a title and this would be a good test for him. Vina del Mar could be interesting - with Gonzo, Monaco and Bellucci in the mix. I have a fondness for the SA/LA clay court swing. I think that since there has been a strong tradition of tennis in South America for a long time it really would be nice if they got a freaking Masters/1000.

I hope South America gets a Masters 1000 series too chesty. BTW is that perm title or not? I'm so confused And it doesn't help when I'm trying to tell my non tennis fan husband that tournaments outside of the slams are important & competitive when I can't keep up with the proper names... Bode Miller aside I really don't like this gimmicky, reality showesque, sweepstake prize of a spot at USO qualifying. I'm not one to get on a soapbox about the morality of a sport, I know $ must be made. But I think this is demeaning and tawdry. And sign me up as someone who wants to watch if the Novak movie gets made. I'm currently watching Spartacus (starz sleazefest not old Kirk Douglas movie) and enjoying every craptastic minute of it!

More Bode for me, woo hoo! [/Homer Simpson-type drool] But I totally agree that the qualifying tournament concept is ridiculous.
I would probably watch the Djokovic movie too. Wait, did I say that out loud?
