I pronounce Adidas like Run-D.M.C., because they're the coolest, and that's how I roll. I didn't think Ivanovic's pictures were very impressive. They didn't do her justice. Also, that old man-style Rolex didn't help.

RE: Ana's pictures: Down The Line has some very convincing evidence that this was just an old Kournikova shoot redone with a bikini (and a prettier lady).
Whenever I hear a pronunciation dispute I think of Carnegie. Only people in Pittsburgh/Western PA pronounce his name correctly--and I figure since the man himself pronounced his own name Car-NEG-ie and not CAR-negie then everyone should pronounce it that way. But they totally don't.

TTC aired the SA final last night so I got to watch Feli get his win. My favorite was when he used the phrase "pissed off" in his speech. So weird to hear those words come out of the mouth of someone for whom english is not their first language.

Wish I could have seen that lt. I watched the match online but it always cuts off right after the win and we don't get TTT here. Lopez's English is pretty good but I agree, it would be weird to slang like that.

Tennis gets in the hearts and minds of our ESPN anchors. Just like Chris Fowler now always has a tennis comment when he does football (and his co-horts have started adding in tennis terminology which thrills Fowler to no end), now Chris McKendry has started. Lunchtime Sportscenter was going through some top NBA plays and she chose "lob" as her verb. She's one of us now.

Del Potro is injured again, looks like it'll take him eight weeks to rest and get back into shape.

Dam that is a while. Hope he can bounce back for Rolland Garros.

I'm watching San Jose. Verdasco just dropped the second set to a dude I've never heard of before. Nando is in sleepy mode again.

I see Youzhny beat Djokovic in Rotterdam, and Soderling beat Davydenko. Both of those results make me smile. Here is a nice feature about Federer's charity work and visit to Ethiopia.

I'm only smiling at the Djoker loss. My dislike for Soderling isn't as bad as my dislike for Djoker but it definitely exists. Good for Youzhny though. I like to see him do well.
Wawrinka and his wife had a little girl named Alexia - 7 1/2 lbs.

Aw, congrats to Stan and wife.
I like Soderling, but I love Davydenko so I'm not thrilled about that one. The commentators were saying that Soderling's style of play was making Davydenko cranky. Heh. Too thrilled for words about Youzhny.
I'm going to have to find a stream if I want to watch the San Jose final tomorrow. Bizarrely, my SNY station has the semis tomorrow and the final on Monday. That's some tape delay.

I'm watching Querry and Roddick and it's not going well for Roddick. I swear that man hits the worst approach shots ever. It's too bad really because his volleys aren't bad but if you hit an approach shot that lands 3 feet in from the base line then you aren't going to get a chance to volley.
ETA - I don't know who is commentating for this match but one of them needs to stop calling Roddick's serve "filthy". He can also stop referring to Querry as a "stud".

Poor Youzhny had to retire yet again. One step forward; two steps back. I feel badly for him.
I'm watching Roddick/Verdasco on atdhe.net, or at least glancing at it while I watch the Olympics. Verdasco isn't playing too well, from the little I've seen. The end of the first set looked pretty easy for Roddick.

Verdasco won San Jose and I'm doing my little happy dance. Only a small part of the dance is because he beat Roddick. Verdasco's Dad was in the audience and he looked so happy.
Ferrero won in Brazil today too so the Spanish men have made me proud today.

Woo hoo. And, unlike Fer, Fer's little brother isn't getting more gorgeous as the years go on. He's still a stunner, but I think he was cuter a couple of years ago. And Justin, I know you're an idiot (really, stop drooling over your friend's wife) and we don't understand the naming conventions of other countries but that isn't the "Verdasco family."
So happy to hear the crowd was pretty firmly behind Verdasco. I thought they were rooting for Fer in the 2nd set because they wanted a third but they were cheering really loudly for Fer in the third as well. Maybe it was all the racquet throwing by Andy that turned them against him.
Meanwhile, could Fer's spaniel eyes be any more melty? And the dimples? *sigh* I'm twelve. I'll be happy to watch the SNY tape delay tomorrow in HD. Too bad it means I have to listen to Justin and Leif Shiras again.
