Sveta does seem to be one of the most liked players on tour, hands down. She also gets along well with the dudes.

You can never, ever, ever bet on Nadia Petrova. If she had just held on to her damn lead in the third set. Now its 7-7 in the final set and play has been suspended.
I want her to win this match because I find Rezai to be quite obnoxious in her outfit, on-court celebrations and attitude toward other players (she seems to make personally insulting comments about others in nearly every press conference). An entitled little brat, she seems to me. And I want her far away from Venus. But I bet she will win when their match resumes tomorrow.

Rezai was very gracious to Venus after their last match, and I've always gotten the sense that her comments about other players have been responses to statements and behavior of other players toward her, so they don't bother me as much. As for that outfit, I think I've made my displeasure quite clear. However, her annoying fist pumping has made me consider siding with Jankovic regarding her mocking of Ivanovic's fist pumping after their last match, and for that she must pay. You can never, ever, ever bet on Nadia Petrova. If she had just held on to her damn lead in the third set. Now its 7-7 in the final set and play has been suspended. You're 100% correct on all counts.

I kind of love Roger's sleeves. Distinctive, yet sporty, unlike so many of his outfits. I'm so glad he seems to have ditched the hideous black sock look.
Nadia. Nadia. NADIA. I want to give that girl a good slap and calm her down.
You must never side with JJ's on court antics. Anyone who makes you do that should suffer horribly.
If they block Rafa's match to show it on NBC I will throw a fit. Absolute fit. There will be fists shaken angrily and expletives shouted.
I'm totally Team Venus, but I love Cibulkova because she's got short thick legs like me. Go shorties!

I'm totally Team Venus, but I love Cibulkova because she's got short thick legs like me. Go shorties! Haw! I love her too, but not for the same reason. I love her energy on the court, the weird upright finish she has on her service motion, and the fact that she zips around the court like she's on fast-forward. All that said, anyone on the other side of the net from Venus has got to go.

That is my understanding too. Bartoli basically said that she did not understand why the French press was so gaga over Rezai (implying that Rezai did not have the game to warrent attention) and Rezai responded. Rezai does not hold her tongue but to me she does not go out looking for someone to insult. To add intrigue to the mix- she and JJ do not get along...at all. So that match will be very interesting and I think both girls will be able to give and take.
Rezai is imo a very pretty girl outside of her outfits...and I think it would be neat to have a woman of full Persain background get a grand slam- to my knowledge that has never been done on the women's side and perhaps not on the men's (Agassi's background is only half Persian, correct?)

I am always amazed when an unknown player is able to make the second week in total anonymity - usually because they beat the players who pulled the big upsets, so they've been on the back courts. This FO, it is Chanelle Scheepers = the qualifier from South Africa who was in the section in which Azarenka or Martinez Sanchez was the likely pick.

I'm glad Petrova won, I think Venus has a better mental edge against her than Rezai, although with the way Venus is playing I think her chances are good against anyone. I think the overnight break help Petrova. She was serving really well through most of yesterday, and then at the end she couldn't buy a first serve for a while.
Yes, his mom's not Persian.

Ferrer looks like absolute crap out there. Is he hung over or something? He's going to go out in straights.
Finally saw the Ljubicic hip swivel in the Fish match. Hysterical. On the other hand, I've decided that Mardy Fish is Olivia Newton-John with stubble.
Yay for Nadia. 'Rena through with a total hiccup in the second set.
Roddick out in straights. Andy doesn't care about the clay season and he just uses it to score some ranking points going into Wimbledon.
I'm watching Verdasco, but I see Almagro is up a break against OlDog. Djokovic needs to speed through his match so I can see some live Rafa.
ETA: WOOOHOOOOO, just noticed the Bryans lost to Melo/Soares. Hopefully Pirate Zimonjic and the Bland Guy can take over No 1.

I like her because she doesn't let the other players say crap about her. So agree about the fist pumping though. I hadn't noticed it until today--but that could be because I adore Petrova. Just love her. Venus/Nadia is going to be all legs and shoulders.
Sorry apocalipstick but Gimeldouche said earlier that Rafa was going to be on NBC.
I've currently got Ferrer/Melzer on the TV and Verdasco/Kohlshreiber on the computer. I think I might need an intervention. Melzer is my tennis nemesis. He keeps beating my favorite players.

Looks like the Beaker match is going to be a long one anyway. I need to get a live feed of Rafa then. Crap. The one day I have time to watch lots of live tennis...
I am so glad I'm not forced to listen to the Gimeldouche though. *shudder* However, I might have liked hearing him and JMac do the Roddick loss. They'd be fumbling all over themselves with excuses for Andy and calling Gabashvili the best unranked player ever!
Verdasco/Blackwriter is a break-fest. No one can hold serve. Ferrer is pissing me off. I can barely watch.

I second your WoooHoooo.
I've discovered something that looks worse than black socks and shoes. Black socks and red shoes. That is what Dolgopolov Jr. is wearing to compliment his purple and white ensemble.
Almagro is playing some solid tennis against him at the moment.

Fer is making me so nervous that I'm cheating. Live Scores is a little ahead of the feed so I keep peeking to see how each point is going to end.
TTC just showed Melzer's bag check (which I hadn't seen before) and dammit, he was endearing. He lost me just a little with calling Bon Jovi and REM the "old classics" but that's because I'm old and not because he's wrong. So I guess every time he beats up on one of my players I'll remember that bag check and like him a little more.
But Ginepri winning a tie break against Ferrero? I'm never going to like Ginepri (although glad to see he's wearing sleeves) so I'm none too pleased.

Ginepri broke to win the set, didn't win the tiebreak. Ginepri's beady, bearlike eyes are too close together and creep me out.
OlDog was wearing white socks early on in the match and then changed to the black. WTF? Clearly he doesn't care about his appearance, but changing into black socks? Almagro is looking good tennis-wise and that shirt is really flattering on him. Red is his color.
Djoker is through.

I've never thought much one way or the other about Ginepri, but that body is just fine. Good for him to be the last American man standing.
Go, Almagro! Another nice body.
Ferrero? I'm probably alone in in this, but his whiny grunt annoys me and I don't get the love. Then again, I'm always cranky in the morning, something that a mimosa could probably fix, but you can't have mimosas every morning, now can you?
Finally: ha ha ha Rezai and Roddick.
