Argh. I cannot find a working feed. Anyone got one (that isn't Channelsurfing--I'm at work and their sex ads don't go over too big)?

Livescorehunter.com has working feeds. It's pretty good quality, too. There are ads that pop up when you start the feed, but my adblocker hides them, so I don't know if they're NSFW or not.

Can't find any working links without some kind of sex ads, sorry lt. But this match seems to be going pretty fast.

Thank you all--livescorehunter really does have a nice feed, amarathe. Their popups were "content blocked" but hopefully they won't come back. I have pop ups blocked but they get through on my Mac for some reason.
So I get the feed in time for a 6-1 set. Stay true Sam. If (IF! I'm not jinxing it) the 2nd set goes like this Roland Garros is going to have some pissed off people in the stands who paid a lot of money.
EuroSport just cut to Elena's press conference. She said it was the thigh.

I've just arrived at work and saw that Elena retired. That's a damn shame; so near and yet so far. Is a thigh injury confirmed?

Sorry, grandslamguru, I was modifying my last post when you posted--she said it was her thigh and that she had spent so many hours with the trainer that she knew calling for an injury timeout at that point wouldn't have helped anyway.

Thanks for the update, It. I feel terrible for her and yet it's kind of cool that Francesca is in the final.

I am loving watching Stosur put the hammer down on Jankovic and wiping that perpetual shit-eating grin from Janky's face. Let's hope she keeps it up. It'd be kind of a shame if she didn't win the whole thing after beating the best player in the world and the best clay-court player of this generation.
I swear it was just six or so months ago that I would shudder at Stosur's backhand when I watched her play. It seemed like a total liability. I wonder how the hell she improved it so greatly in such a short period of time.
I do wonder how Stosur will fare on other surfaces. Clay seems to really play into her strengths, especially her kick serve which bounces high on the clay. She won't have quite the same advantage on hard and grass.

Yeah, I think we'll be watching Stosur hoist the trophy on Saturday and it will be a well-deserved win.
Not that I dislike JJ per se, but...
ETA: Does anyone know why the rankings haven't been updated since May 24? [/small voice/ Nevermind, I get it now.]

Schiavone for the win! I mean, why not? I like seeing that smile splitting her weathered face.

Martina was talking about that yesterday to Bill Macatee and she made sense so I'll repeat what she said: Sam had trouble at first on clay because she grew up on Australian grass and clay is as far from grass as you can get. But once she got a handle on clay it became her best surface because of her kick serve and heavy topspin (very much like Rafa in that regard). She needs to adjust that for the other surfaces but she's so strong and fit something something something (I forget but I think it was that the other surfaces would be a problem for her but as her head gets stronger she will do fine on them). eta: If you go here you can see the Martina on Stosur video. Sorry I cannot link to it directly. She won! Boy, that crowd got gypped today.

From your tennisheaven posting to some deity's ears, guru.
I'm still stunned at Elena and not just a bit angry. I guess the retirement after a hard-fought set leaves me with a lot of questions. Questions I'd prefer not to have, I guess, but can't fend off....
Go Sam!!

Wow, that was a beating. The Eurosport commentators were saying that Jankovic looked slow and I have to agree. I think of Jankovic as one of the best movers on tour, but she was late or off-balance hitting a lot of balls. I wonder if the pressure of being the favorite got to Jankovic.
That being said, Stosur is playing great tennis. It's so weird seeing a WTA player with a great serve who is not Venus/Serena. Still, I want Schiavone to slice-and-dice her way to the title. It would be like Gomez beating Agassi, but Stosur isn't wearing a wig (as far as I know).

That was an impressive display. It's been a while since I've seen Jelena flummoxed like that. I actually kind of feel bad for her. A little. Anyway, Sam's my new non-sexual girlfriend. I hope the final is a battle. I'm squarely rooting for Sam, but will be happy with either, as I like them both. When was the last time we had a major final in which neither finalist had ever made it to a major final before? This has been a fun tournament so far, even if my bracket is a bloody mess.
