But as for Tommy--he felt my disappointment through the air and came back. Thank you Tommy for proving me incredibly wrong.
I'm having no luck finding a decent feed for Verdasco/Tipsy but that's okay--I don't need to see my guy lose. And the less I see his ridiculous fauxhawk, the better. Maybe he went with that hair to remember his heyday of his Aussie Open a couple of years ago.
Is Fer's ankle hurting him more than it was a couple of days ago? I think it is time for Fer to go into a bathroom and hit a wall. That always seems to work for him.
As for all the sherbet-colored clothes, I was looking at some pictures from the Golden Globes and it seems that those wimpy colors were all over there as well. I think I'll stick with my primary-colored wardrobe.
Well, I'm off for the night. I'll be less inclined to be pissy if I watch Fer lose from the comfort of my comfy bed.

Welcome back Chesty! Yes, I don't blame them for cutting away but they didn't need to bring the character assassination out for her. She's clearly trying very hard to come back and her personality is great for the game. I get so tired of the Freudian commentary in the US but it never changes. I'm sorry I missed most of the good matches but I slept too late.  |

Ok I give up on the fashion designs of Venus. It looks like someone sewed the wrong bottom to the wrong top. Also, they appeared to have sewn the two pieces together in the dark. Is the top actually lattice work? Are they actual openings or just illusions? She's wearing the illusion underwear. It's like she's turning in to some eccentric tennis lady.

Venus' design aesthetic can best be described as . . . experimental. I feel I can't judge anything she wears because i want to love it all just because she's in it. I find myself wanting to like that thing, and there's no way that would happen if someone else were wearing it.

They were just talking about how Venus is going to the inside-out forehand a little more. I thought it seemed like that when I was watching her on day one, but I wasn't sure.

And *sigh* we're back to this ugly match between Venus and Zahlavova instead of the deciding fifth set of ridiculously exciting tennis.
As for Venus's outfit: how can an outfit that short with that many holes in it make a 6' something goddess look dumpy and stout in the middle? That cannot be easy to do. And what is with Venus and big upholstery zippers this tournament? The sad thing is, it is such an easy dress to fix: keep the top, keep the color (yellow is beautiful on Venus), make the skirt the same color and straight and add one strip of the lattice work at the waist area. Sexy and attractive. The way it is now is just one more hot mess in a world of hot Venus designed messes. Meanwhile, Zahlavova's dress is a size too big in the bodice and that's just weird for the women--usually too tight is the way they go.
Heh, I thought Dick was having one of his senior moments until I realized that they had the wrong mic on for his update for Sportscenter. Well, now we know what we'd be hearing if we were watching Sportscenter instead of tennis.

The really annoying parts about Venus' dress are that (1) the skirt is actually very pretty and the proper length and (2) I haven't noticed Venus adjusting. Which makes the combination of colors and mismatched patterns so much worse.
