I wish I could get DirecTV but I live in a townhouse that doesn't face south. And my homeowner's association made some under the table deal with Cablevision so when FIOS offered the lay all the fiber optics for free they were told no because it would "disrupt the landscaping."
I broke down and bought a ticket. I figured if I was going to have to stay on the grounds to watch the match I wanted to be in the stadium. I just won't buy a t-shirt this year. . . (21 years I've been going, how many t-shirts do I need?)
Anyhoo, can we leave the Ivanovic/Stephens match for a bit? I'd like to see more than 5 seconds of Tsonga/Fer.

I'll second that request.
TSN here in Canada is picking up CBS during the day and TTC in the evening so we have coverage from the first ball to the last ball each day and I very much appreciate it.
Is that odd noise Ivanovic makes gotten louder or am I just irritable tonight?

Rats. Must have walked out the room when the 5 seconds of Tsonga/Fer came on.
I am relieved to see, in Novak's first real match, that he looks a little vulnerable. If Novak hasn't played Dolgopolov before, it could be a challenge in the same way Tomic was at Wimbledon.
I must say that Azarenka really impressed me today. It was the first time I was able to ignore the noise and really appreciate her play. She carried herself at the end of the match like a player who could be a champ or a #1 player - more so than Caroline has to this point. Of course, if that Caroline-Serena semi occurs, she could prove everyone wrong even in defeat.

Okay, here in Westchester County, north of Manhattan, Verizon FIOS says "TTC programming is not available at this time." WTF? Anyone know what's going on? TTC and Verizon websites don't mention anything.

Dopped in the middle of a Slam? The US open? Wow, so bad.
Hmpfh, FatDave played a tough 1st set vs Nadal, but now seems to have gone away. Well, talented as he is, Nadal is bette-, but still I'd like to see a competitive match.

Thanks skyz for the articles on Venus. I always sensed bewilderment rather than indifference from her. Now I think it’s because she never really knew what to say. How could she explain being fit and energetic one day then stiff and listless the next? It must have been maddeningly frustrating.
I’m so glad she’s been vindicated by the recent diagnosis. Now we know that she’s been quietly more courageous than anyone knew by playing with fatigue plus sore and often swollen joints. Yeah, she’s a champion.

harry, check later today. From what I read this morning FIOS will probably bring TTC Sunday afternoon/evening. In case anyone was wondering, this is all over 15 cents a subscriber. That's the amount TTC costs per person (ESPN costx five dollars per person).

grandslam, that was hysterical and I love how the last line (in pure Post fashion) basically said none of it was true (salacious and covering their ass, that's the Post.
Dolgo/Djoker is second on Armstrong tomorrow which means CBS will ignore them. . . Roger/Monaco is the night match for those of us without TTC.

Okay, I'm duly imp-essed by what Young has done/is doing the last 2 -ounds. Hasn't won today's match yet, but 2 sets to 0 is something, and obviously he won the last one. Both against quite decent playe-s, not lucky lose-s o- anything like that.

Donald Young just finished dismantling Chela. It was an impressive performance.
Also, during a changeover, the announcers on usopen.org, thinking their mics weren't on, mentioned that Rafa cramped up during his press conference.
