Vika - our very own Katniss? :/ Go get 'em, kiddo.
Any chance they're showing Miami on ABC? While I spend much of my time wishing Florida would secede from the union, I might consider a quick trip if things play out interestingly this week....

Interesting music choice by the dj in Miami. After Berdych gets upset by Dmitrov, they played Viva la Vida.

Cornrows? Dolgo decided cornrows were a good idea? I think I've seen pictures with him and cornrows, but never in person.
It was sad seeing Feli and Fer across the net from each other in doubles but sadder to see them barely acknowledge each other at the net when the match was over. Breakups are hard. Weirdly, it was Marc.Lopez who played the worst in the foursome--so much so that Feli started taking deciding points at deuce.
I'm watching Flavia lose right now but, to be honest, I'm at this match because Tsonga/kohlschreiber are next on this court and it's a small court and I want my front row seat. The Simon/Melzer match was packed to the rafters because Murray is om next (and because the men's matches always attract bigger crowds than the women).

heh, spoke too soon. Raonic sprained his ankle so Murray won in a walkover and they moved Tsonga/Kohlschreiber to the grandstand. Eh, I think I'll stick here and watch Nishikori, at least untl Rafa goes on in the stadium court and the grandstand e,pties out. At least Flavia is playing better.

Yup, and it's really nice weather. Humid but with a nice breeze--although the players might not agree with me on liking the breeze. Sad part about it not being super Miami hot is that nekther Fer nor Feli changed their shirts during the match. Oh, and for those that thought Fer's colorful outfit is a bit much, you should see it in duplicate--Marrero wore the same thing. It was quite the assault on the senses. And I liked the outfit when jusr one pwrson was wearing it.
Eta: gotta love it, 6-2, 1-6, and then 8-6 in the third se tiebreak. At one point Blanco fell down and Flavia yelled across to ask if she was okay (in Spanish). Also gotta love the multi-national tournament that this is--I had Spanish-speakers on my left (rooting for Blanco) and Italian on my rig ht (rooting for Flavia).

Wow. It was impressive that Venus was able to win that match. She was not playing well today, and her movement was clearly limited. She had a little help when AWoz pretty much disintegrated while trying to serve it out, but Venus really had to fight through a long, scratchy match.

Awwww, sweet. Max's kids and Daniel's kids are all sitting and playing together and Max's wife is takimg pictures of the whole brood.
I thoug ht I was going to be rooting for Kei in the last match but I keep forgetting how much I like Rosol until I see him. I wish he could keep his head together when he plays but the errors start coming. Oh well, I like Nishikori loads anyway.

Agree, fala, I didn't see it all but I could see Venus looked physically drained a lot of the time. I'm really glad she was able to pull it out. Hope the next one is easier for her, though it will probably be a tougher matchup.
I saw the clip of the Gonzo tribute. So bittersweet.

Mardy is wearing a shirt that fits, when did that happen? But he's way skinny now. And Kevin Anderson switched from his super-cool clothes to Under Armour

Given the lack of rest and how off Venus looked yesterday, I have to think that Ana has a real chance tonight... if she forgets she's playing Venus Williams.
He may not be my favorite player any more but Federer-Roddick matches still have the ability to drive this Andy fan nuts. I mean, we all know what's going to happen but it doesn't make it any easier to deal with.

Feli is Feliciano Lopez and Fer in this case is Verdasco, right? I second mooncreek breezybee's interest in hearing what the story is with them if anyone wants to share.
Fixed mixed up cite.

I actually didn't ask about Feli and Fer but I add in having interest in the answer. I know that pairing couldn't win a doubles match together last year - but whether the issues were before or after that I don't know.
