Thanks again, printwhore!
Isner/Nalbandian is confounding me. Anyone want to tell me who to root for? Give me a good reason! (Although I don't know why it matters much; almost midnight here and I have work tomorrow...)
(You have a PM, roseha.)

Tipsarevic: tinypic.com/r/10mpzrk/5Dude walked right past me as I was busy stalking Federer. I just shoved a camera in his face, paparazzo style. Jo Willy : tinypic.com/r/15z59qv/5Roger the Beautiful: tinypic.com/r/2lw0zn8/5Rafa: tinypic.com/r/2z87x45/5Just walked right past him. Have seen him in person before so I was all, "Hello there, see ya." He's still guapo. One more of Roger: tinypic.com/r/2yknv2a/5Basically he walked past the fans starting from left to right. I didn't take a picture when he was directly in front of me because I was speechless. Too speechless. ETA: ONLY for the Djokovic fans: tinypic.com/r/eqtvmx/5Got pretty close to him. He's very very very impressive. The only other player I can think of who comes even close to the aura he has right now is Rafa, but that was about five years ago during Rafa's peak. This guy is a machine and when you see him, his mental strength is almost palpable. I can't believe this is the same guy who does drag.

You're welcome guys: happy to take the pics and provide some colour commentary. Unfortunately, I do have a graduate degree to complete so I didn't shlep over to Rod Laver today because I had nine hours of seminars. WHEEE.
Just note: I'm really speculating if Beck got paid off to walkover. Federer DID NOT look like the happiest camper yesterday and he barely hit anything. There was a tense tone around his camp, I've got loads of pics of him and his team standing around, looking worried. There's also some unconfirmed rumor that the AO officials are trying to make sure there's a blockbuster SF with Roger and Rafa. I dunno, that's just my gut feel but Roger was not looking too good.

OMG, pw, I hope that speculation is wrong, both on the Roger-being-hurt front and the legitimacy-of-the-game front.
But those pics are awesome. Thanks so much.
And, tiki, I totally LOL'd at your response to the JWT picture. I love hearing that he's so popular down there, printwhore. I just j'adore him.
Whoa! Isner just took the fourth set tiebreak and Nalby hurled his racquet. It looked as though it was very near to one of the linespeople. I'm as fond of FD as the next gal, but that's just not okay. I hope he gets punished big time for that.

Oh Grigor. All of the other young guys are passing him by. Almagro up 4-0 in the fifth.
I have to admit I'm looking forward to Tomic/Dolgopolov. That's going to be a lot of junk balling.

Thanks for the pics printwhore.
I'm watching the Baggy/Wawrinka match right now. Pretty lucky where I am in Canada. We have full coverage of the tournament. I have so many hours of Ozzy Open stored on my tv already that I think I'll have to take a few days off work to watch it all.
ETA- I love the way Baggy smashes racquets. He just calmly and systematically smashed four racquets in a row.

Okay, make me like her, whydon'tcha?
Thanks for the pictures--I, of course, had to see what was in the Djoker pictures for his fans only and heeeeee. Good luck in your seminars today (and with that whole advanced degree thing).
Oh, I was watching when I woke up this morning and during the Azarenka match Pam said she visited an academy recently and every. single. girl was grunting "louder than Azarenka." They were making the point that the various governing agencies need to start regulating that in juniors because once a player hits the tour they aren't going to be able to stop.

Well, if it makes you feel any better oops she was very curmudgeonly about it. . .
During the Stan match they were talking about how Stan was by himself because he didn't have a full-time coach and his "wife and child" were back home. I googled it and there are plenty of rumors that he got back with his family but nothing definite. Did that happen? Have they reconciled? I would like to like Stan again. . .
Blergh on that mixed doubles matchup. I don't have anything against Peschke, but the rest. . .

LT I was googling the Stan family situation too and coming up w/ all sorts of weird translations of articles that led me to believe there was a reconciliation...
Despite knowing better I honestly thought that Young had a chance against Lacko. I could care less about Fish and feel indifferent re:Roddick until he starts to perform and then I loathe him. Am so disappointed that Kader Nouni contributed to Nalby's ousting. I don't despise Isner but am sure I will after ESPN's exhaustive coverage of his every move... I am w/ whowever would like a new women's #1. I'm all sunshined out...

I can't remember what tournament I was watching in the fall but I know Stan's wife and daughter were there cheering him on so it is quite likely that they have reconciled.

Good for them. Maybe he just had some postpartum depression going on. . .
I'm joining that crowd too, Francie. ESPN2 did one of those bumper bits before her match last night and all that guileless smiling and fooling with her long locks was a little two years ago for me. I want to see more fire in her belly before I root for her again. And, no, I'm not blaming her for smiling during a photo shoot--it was just the straw breaking the camel's back for me.
