Hoo boy, this crowd is very pro-Roger. And hee, Matt Cronin just ripped into NBC for not airing the match yet (I'm hoping in the non-ET time zones 'cause I'm about to head to the gym to watch).
Oh, I'm sure most of you folk already know this but it was interesting new info for me. This morning the radio guys were talking during the first rain delay about how Grand Slams got named and why it is the four that we know: -a NY journalist was talking about when Crawford was going for all four in a row and since the journalist was a bridge player he used the phrase used in bridge--Grand Slam -the reason the four tournaments are where they are is because those were the four countries that won Davis Cup and that no other country won a Davis Cup until 1974

Sara Errani reminds of a pre-nose-job Shannon Miller (the US gymnast).
I think I'm basically okay with either result of the Roger-Djokovic semi.
GSG, where are you seeing this? Is it better than The Killing, which I gave up on even before the lame first season finale?
It really bugs me when Djokovic applauds an opponent's shot. I find it very condescending the way he does it. He's condescending ... to Roger Federer. Ugh.

harry24 Friends visiting from the UK have the subtitled DVDs, which are unavailable for the U.S. region's technology. So i'm watching on their computer. Yes, much better than The Killing.
Time to wake up, Roger!

Roger now up two breaks in the second! Is this live? I have to look, this looks like it is actually turning around.
BTW that 36-stroke point that Roger won to get to deuce in the first game of the second was fabulous by Roger, but I can't believe Nole played the trick shot, no wonder he lost it.
The announcers seemed to suggest Roger was tired but I don't get that impression, I think the errors were due to some other reason but not sure what.
Still up a break? Will have to check the web. Have to go to work so will switch to phone viewing soon. Sigh.

Grandslamguru I'm jealous, I want to watch but have no access.
Normally I wish for a competitive match but just want Nole to get on with it so that he isn't completely embarrassed by Rafa on Sun!

Oh, I so don't want Fed to go down in st-aights, no, please no. I'd like him to win, but i he loses competitively I can definitely accept that. I've always expected a Djok-Nadal final, anything else would have been a bonus.
So, Fed, play well. No, bette-. The best. Then let the chips fall whe-e they may. I have faith in Nadal and what the hell, if Djok can beat him on the clay, at the F-ench, well then .... too good.
I can't seem to get too inte-ested in the women. Yeah, okay, go Masha, get the CGS, you dese-ve it. I'll watch on mute.

Hmm, Fed's been kinda off this whole Slam, no? Good enough to get by to this point, but always had to wo-k too ha-d, and an off and on day just isn't good enough against the Big Boys, against Djok. I hate to see him go so tamely though. Is Djok just playing fantastic, lights out?
Oh well, go Nadal, get it in #'s that yes you and solely you a-e the best eve- on clay. We all know you a-e, a 7th FOpen just clinches it.

Makes me wonder if JMDP would have prevailed against Roger if not injured. I feel bad that it was a straight set defeat.

Darn. I don't think I even want to watch that when I get home tonight.
I wish I could like Djokovic but I can't. I can appreciate his tennis but the man himself bugs the living daylights out of me. As much as I'm getting tired of Rafa winning this year after year I'll be rooting for him on Sunday.

The wind. Oh my goodness, the wind. I can't believe I'm going to agree with John McEnroe but for Roger to win today his game plan needed to be big shots and outright winners and the conditions on the court made that plan useless. Not that I think Djoker still wouldn't have won, just that the 2nd set wouldn't have been so weird and there wouldn't have been that big Roger let down in the third. Some of the rallies were just remarkable. It wasn't a beatdown like the earlier semi by any stretch of the imagination.
And at 5-3 in the third when I started thinking I was okay with Nole winning they showed a shot of his parents. *sigh* Why are they back? Couldn't Jelena have kept them away some more? Still, I'm rooting big time for Novak on Sunday--having a Novak Slam really would be incredible.
