Trying hard to stay up late again, though tonight was my goodbye-New-England party. Does Flipkens have a chance again Shriekie? And is anyone up with me?

Alas it doesn't seem to be shaping up to be a competitive match. She has showed some good momentd, but she can't piece together multiple points.

Anyone seen Li Na play? I'm hoping she's got a chance against Maria. Just so that we don't end up with a Serena vs Maria final, even though it's always nice to see a beat down of Maria, for me. I'd like a competetive final. I suppose Vika could beat Serena too. And Aga is still in it.
Nice win for Venus and Serena in doubles today. Next up the #1 Italians. Which they should win easily enough.
I'll be interested in seeing how Serena plays Sloane in a grand slam, if it happens. She'll be more ruthless than she was in Brisbane. Anyway I hope Serena wins it all.
I'm looking forward to Roger vs Tsonga if they each make it that far.

Stan is in the zone. Incredible. I hope he can keep it up for another set. Novak's not playing badly either, Stan's just playing better. It's very, very nice to see.

Is anyone up watching Stan take the fourth set tiebreaker to force a fifth against Djoker?

I'm on-call tonight, and this is how I was alerted that I need to watch this Stan-Nole match.
I got a tongue and cheek text from my Serbian neighbor that said "FUCK SWITZERLAND!"

I can't believe this is still going on. I just came home from work thinking Stan lost in 4. C'mon, Stan!

I woke up to the fourth-set tiebreak. That point to win the set was insane. Gorgeous. They are both playing more tired now but the fight is still incredible.

This match is the perfect example of why the Aussie Open needs a fifth-set tiebreak. The level of play has dipped so much because there is no visible finish line and they're both trying to reserve some energy. From what the commentators have said, this match has been highly entertaining because they were serving and returning with force and abandon and that's gone now. The crowd's energy is dipping now as well.
eta: ooh, Darren just said it better than me: in a no-tiebreak fifth set all the strategy you've used goes out the window and you have to concentrate on managing yourself. Well, this match was all strategy before and now it's about who blinks first. Not as interesting to me.
