Wow! And your neighbor cracks me up, chocula. I was all hope there for a few minutes when I checked the AO app - but happy for Stan.

I hope this inspires Stan and he doesn't go the way of Verdasco after his epic against Rafa. It was a classic. I'm glad I decided to watch it.

Anyone seen Li Na play? I'm hoping she's got a chance against Maria. Just so that we don't end up with a Serena vs Maria final, even though it's always nice to see a beat down of Maria, for me. I'd like a competetive final. I suppose Vika could beat Serena too. And Aga is still in it. Na hasn't looked unbeatable, but she has been playing well, and most importantly she seems to be managing her head relatively well. She has proven that she can beat Maria more than once, but it's hard to tell how she would fare against Maria based on the people she has played. Aga has yet to drop a set this year, and this is her third event already. She has been imprssive, but there's always the question of whether she will be able to neutralize a power player on a given day.

I watched quite a bit of (one-sided) tennis yesterday but still woke up for Aga/Ana. Saw it end, eyes not able to stay awake said "screw it. everything else has been one-sided" and didn't even bother with the 8am wakeup I've been doing. Yeah so never saw any of the five hours of Nole/Stan as a result.
ETA: Yes, I know now ESPN2 is reairing. Problem is, there's no one home to record it.

Just finished the Stan/Nole match.
When did I start liking Novak? Eesh. It helps that he now has the record to back up his bravado, I guess. And he seems to make more of an effort these days to be gracious. I'll still root against him though!

My cable company finally added WatchESPN so while I'm watching Ravens/Patriots (Go Ravens!) I'm also watching the doubles on Court 2. All I have to say is: Fer, if your hair is long enough to pull through the back of your baseball cap it's too long. Get a haircut (and a shave while you're at it).

I do, harry, and it's true! I wish it wasn't because it's a pain in the ass to get to Eataly but, damn it, that stuff is worth it. I have a full bottle of the olive oil I've bought for years and I won't use it now.

Nice win for Kuznetsova. Her topspin was working overtime for her today. So many of her crosscourt shots looked like they were going out only to drop in at the last moment. I love her game.

Kuznetsova's game was in top form.

Has anyone noticed that the people running the graphics are a bit shoddy lately?
Seems like they're having to adjust the score a lot, earlier today they displayed Djokovic's photo with a Canadian flag (really?), etc. During the last Raonic match, they had the players confused for a good while and eventually took down the graphic.

I don't know what's up with ESPN2. They are still showing Seppi/Chardy, and the AO radio I'm listening to has been commenting on Tsonga/Gasquet for maybe 15 minutes now.

roesha - while I understand sticking with the end of Chardy-Seppi over the French guys starting, I suspect they'll switch from this match for the Sloane Stephens Show.

I guess I didn't think of that moon, I guess I'm confused because the Seppi/Chardy is over already.
Over on the AO Radio stream while watching Tsonga/Gasquet, they've been having an interesting discussion about French players with English tennis writer Richard Evans. He was with Arthur Ashe when they first saw Yannick Noah play. I didn't know that Noah and Ashe had played doubles together.
