I hope I'm not overstepping my bounds here, but I haven't seen admin around too much of late and I wanted to make this thread in her stead (and honor!). Monday's Wimbledon order of play was just posted, and I'm dying to discuss the matches. If I were there, I would try to see Kanepi/Serena, Ginepri/Gonzalez, Llodra/Ancic, Bellucci/Kunitsyn (just a taste), Schnyder/Dellacqua, Gicquel/Nishikori, Mauresmo/Harkleroad, Berdych/Korolev, Cornet/Pavlyuchenkova, Kohlschreiber/Verdasco (to my mind, the best first round matchup besides Gulbis/Isner), Ferrero/Querrey (almost as good!), Guccione/Monfils, and Benesova/Radwanska. That's all! Of course, I'd have to clone myself a bunch so I could be in five places at once! Quite an opening day slate, wouldn't you say? So, what matches are you all most looking forward to - either in tomorrow's play or beyond?

Wrongami - The Final Cylon model. There are many copies. All viewing Wimbledon matches.
I have the day off tomorrow and plan to park my butt in front of the TV and check out the ESPN multi-channel coverage. I brought the laptop so I'll be able to post along. If anyone else is out there and obsessively watching...
I dreamed last night there was a Nadal/P. McEnroe final. I was there wearing a silver dress and pink wig. And Lolita sunglasses. (Yes, I'm sure I looked like a hooker.) I was watching it from the stands but could still hear the TV announcers. Nadal won, bagel, breadstick, bagel. It was surreal.
I'm looking forward most to the Kanepi/Serena match.

Yes! The Wimbledon Cylon! Leoben and Boomer and I have box seats on New Caprica.
Your dream is the awesomest thing I've ever heard, apoc (and I've heard some pretty awesome things)! Love the outfit. Maybe Serena will wear something similar at the USO, as a kind of sequel to the catsuit?
And I forgot to mention, there's also a bunch of doubles I want to see (being a Cyclon, that's completely to be expected). I hope there's a Resurrection Ship nearby, 'cause there's gonna be a lot of heart-stopping action tomorrow! /Galactica geek

Oooh! I'm so excited. C'mon morning!
BTW, I love that Roger's head shot on the My(Wimbledon/Roland Garros/etc.) feature looks like a sixth-grade class picture and Venus's looks like she just did the Oscars!

Argh, these early morning European slams kill me...like I'm going to get up at 5 a.m. for anything. I thought about sleeping on the couch with the TV on so I'll wake up for the start, but I wouldn't want tikiboy to get the wrong idea!

Early comments. I hate the score line at the top of the ESPN screen. HATE it.
I always forget how cute Ferrero is until I see him.
Brad Gilbert hasn't pissed me off yet.
ETA: I lurve Serena's hair. Did Rafa get a hair cut? I know he doesn't own a comb, but it looked a little shorter/curlier in the front.

His looks like my fifth grade teacher, Ms. Carron. ;D There's a cute pic of Rafa on the Wimby photos section, and it does look like his hair is different. (go to all photos, #9) Ten day forecast for London: partly cloudy everyday until Friday then three days of rain. Weekend weather magnet strikes again.

Can't hold back. Must. Post.
Kim bagelled Soderling in the second set?
Kanepi doubled faulted on set point to Serena.
It's all just too much tennis and I'm basking in it. Tomorrow I'll be all groany because I have to work.

Right? I hate when ESPN tries new score lines. They always fail.
Poor Kanepi. Has a great set and still loses.
I guess I should be happy that Gonzo is playing an American so I can see some Gonzo but damn, this is a scary 12th game of the first set.

So lucky that you don't have to work, apoc!
I got to catch the first two hours of coverage before I had to skedaddle. It was funny how Bud kept Budding in to the conversation when they were doing the "9 talking heads" in the beginning. Everyone treats him like his Grandpa Simpson these days.
Hrbaty, meanwhile, just looks happy to be out there. Well enjoy it, erstwhile dominator, 'cause it won't be much longer! I can't believe Spadea's up two sets on Johansson. The humanity!
Finally, and I quote:
Me freaking too! Sometimes they're not even showing what the set score is, and then - even worse in my eyes - when they flash their score updates, there's no indication of who's serve it is and thus what the break status might be in any ongoing set. HATE! Almost an angry letter kind of hate.
Edited to add: Pavlyuchenkova was up 4-1 and two breaks against Cornet, but Alize has come back to tie it up at 4-all.

That scoreboard at one point said that Serena had one the first set 8-5. And that was one ugly end of a set. Meanwhile, Darcis won the third set keeping my pick alive in the pool.

There goes Gonzo, making it interesting. At least he won the tiebreak (sorry packrat). ETA: my mistake, packrat, I was keeping an eye on Baggy as well and I got them confused. However, it looks like that one is headed Baggy's way, so sorry again for that.)
And Johannson better get his butt in gear. I do not want to see arrested development get past the first round.

I know people in the press will come down on him for sitting with Roger during that last changeover but I thought it was cute.
And, yeah, Johannson better get his butt in gear--Spadea winning a match is just wrong.

Cornet and Pavlyuchenkova in the tiebreak at 5-5. Man, I wish I could see this match!
JCF just finished off Sam - tough draws for Querrey in the last two slams! Good to see Ferrero's thigh is OK, though.
ETA: and the 16-year-old pulls through and takes the tiebreak! (I'm mostly excited 'cause I have her going into the third round in my bracket, heh).
Also, I find it kind of hilarious when there's "No Photo Available" on the SlamTracker - the pixillation makes it look like the player is either in the Witness Protection Program or is an anonymous source on some kind of TV news report.
