I'm watching the video of the Li/ Kuz match and as much as I'm happy for Li, the crowd is quite distracting for Kuz I'd think. They're cheering DURING points! Shhh! That's interesting b/c I haven't been able to watch any of the tennis matches (update your programming guide directtv!) but the crowds have been relatively subdued during the gymnastic events and archery.

Well Venus won and now Zheng is in the third set. Her opponent seems to be getting really hot, always has an ice bag on her head on the change over and she seemed kind of bothered by the crowd. I've noticed that China's been playing some really random songs while on change over. Just now it was some Spanish sounding music, maybe Mexican. I am glad NBC is streaming this live it's been fun so far.

Rafa looked freaking amazing against Hewitt. 6-1 6-2 just now. A lot of the time he made these absolutely ridiculous passing shots and volleys, and he covered the court very well and he attacked at the net. In the last game I think a bit of nerves crept in and Lleyton actually went up 0-40, so what did Rafa do but get himself back together and win the last five points. Too bad for Lleyton whom I like, but I'm so happy for Nadal. Oh Rafa, don't get my hopes up like this.

Okay this is irritating - instead of showing a live Blake or Federer match USA is showing a one-sided Venus match. Urgh.
Glad to read that Rafa played well. Now I wish I had stayed up to watch it but I was worried since he looked so miserable in his first round match. But I read that he was much better in his dubs match and that must have carried over.
Great win by Zheng today- she was down a break in the third and the crowd was really into it.

I watched the Rewind of the Nadal/Robredo dubs on NBCOlympics.com. Nadal hit some amazing returns. Soderling/Bjorkman were able to win points by hitting the ball directly at Robredo. He was completely unable to get out of his own way.
I stayed up last night to watch the men's gymnastics. If they showed the Nadal match, I'll get to watch it tonight.
I hear Feds is looking good?
Oh oh, and Stan is out too!

Do you all think that NBC will reshow the medal rounds on their site? I've enjoyed watching the tennis there and since I'll be away I hope I can at least watch that way...I hope they keep the matches there for awhile...at least a couple of days!

Nadal played really well today, I'm hopeful of a good run. I loved the last game, Hewitt did great to get to 0-40 up, but then Rafa won like 4 straight points at the net to get back to deuce. I'm sure Hewitt was tired after yesterday but I thought he fought really well, even if the score doesn't reflect that, and there were some great points.
Federer's got Berdych next who obviously knocked him out in Athens. I really don't see that happening this time. Roger will want revenge!
Davydenko's out. He's been doing pretty badly these last few weeks. Ferrer would easily be number 4 if he wasn't also doing crap at the moment.

I might observe that Federer has a fairly clear route to the finals, if I was interested in jinxing him, which I most certainly am not. So, no observations from me. No siree.

The matches were scheduled for that time at 4pm EST today, 12 hours ahead of the scheduled start time. I think the move is simply to play more night matches.
Weather.com has it sunny in Beijing.

I don't have a problem with Blake (I was actually a fan for awhile but am not a masochist by nature so gave that up ) but I would not be pleased if he bumped Fed out. He's up a set... Does anyone know if it's being aired in the US? And if so on what network? It' s been really confusing and hard to find matches. I had to tivo the Oxygen network yesterday

Blake beat him - first time in 9 matches! Federer did not play too well and Blake did well.
