This could be just because I hate Brad Gilbert, but...why do I get the feeling he hates Federer? I feel like he only loves guys (and I do mean guys; he shows little to no respect for the female players) who flail and sweat and run up mountains and puke, all in a totally manly fashion.

Well, he wrote a book called "Winning Ugly" and that is the opposite of Federer's game. I was hating the commentators who were all gung ho about not closing the roof. I get the complaints about how all these rules are taking away the advantage of fitness, but playing in over 105 degree heat is a little ridiculous if it's avoidable.

Commentatoes are crazy. There was one British one who did coverage for Channel Seven here I forget her name (Sam someone?) and she was perfection. She spoke highly of ALL of the opponents on court, was not biased, always chatty, humorous, wasn't spurting out her crazy thoguhts about things that had NOTHING to do with the match and was generally awesome.
So yeah I hate commentators who speak too much shit. The beauty of tennis is that whenever you step out across the court, every new day is a new chance. There will always be other factors (fitness, general ability, mental strength) but such is our sport. So when a commentator comes on and rides off a player compeltely and is then surprised they are doing well, I want to SLAP THEM. And then on top of that we have to heair them YAP on with their old school/crap/unnesseceary points and I just want to mute the channel.

Okay, do you think the commentators could mention ONE MORE FUCKING TIME what a tough semi Nadal had? It's not Federer's fault that Nadal played a five-plus hour match. For fuck's sake.

I am full of hate right now and looking for an outlet: Do you think Rafa could switch back to being right-hand now?

I too amd full of hate towards the commentators. Roger looses a match and he is playing so badly. He looses a set, Nadal has already had him beaten for life... BAH! GO AWAY ALREADY! I really hpoe Rog doesn't listen to any of their shit.
The commentators make it sound like Feds of pre-08 could have done no wrong but I assure you, he had his bad days and bad sets. He lost against Rafa then too. The man I saw play at this tournament was the Federer of old. He just couldn't piece it together today and was beaten by a better player.
Bring on this new season. Here's hoping some firing happens as these dim wit commentators shit me to no end! TRA LA LA!

Bud Collins is fucking insane at this point in time and really needs to be put out to pasture. Let him go back to writing history books about tennis played 50 years ago, ESPN. Half the time I can't even figure out what the hell his point is.

Reading Roger's interviews is making me mad at him. I do like him, but he can be such an ass.

I hate the power game in women's tennis. It has made it one dimensional and lacking in variety. Sure there is ALOT more mdepth now than say five to ten years ago but the variety, the touch, the GAME is lost.
I say this because I was watching Martina Hingis game highlights on YouTube... WOW the girl had EVERYTHING and then an AWESOME tennis mind on top of that! Such a chess like player, moving her apponent around. She is such a champion of the sport (I don't want to say legend as she doesn't have the amount of slams to back that up though with 40+ singles titles, another 40 doubles and being 1 for 200+weeks, she IS up there...) and I only wish she had won the 02 Australian Open... Agh it still annoys me to think of it... I think she'd still be playing had she won that one... or at least she would have been around a lot longer.
So yeah my haterade today goes to the sloggers of the women's sport. SO SO very unnatractive to watch.

It doesn't look as though many people are posting here right now, but I just have to vent about Gimelsnob announcing on FSN for the Indian Wells tournament...he really is intolerable for me!
He just constantly talks about players' girlfriends and how hot they are (which is okay, I guess, but he does it in such a creepy, lecherous way, very much like Mrs. Brady does, er, I mean Jim Courier), and then last night, during the Roddick match, he obviously thought he was off-mike but you could clearly hear him say "fuck you" to somebody.
Man this guy rubs me the wrong way! I can hardly stand to watch the matches he's calling. Between his ridiculously sexist comments last year about some women players and his complete idiocitude...how does this guy keep getting jobs?!!!!

Ugh, he's doing that bullshit again? He had cut it out for a while, I was actually finding him tolerable. It's not offensive to me, it's just dumb, pointless and sophomoric. Also, as with just about anything he does, he does it over and over and over again. He seems to be incapable of just shutting the fuck up when he has nothing worthwhile to say. I've heard other people make comparable comments (Martina for instance) and its never as teeth grindingly annoying. I think part of that is that Martina is a woman so it comes off better, but for me it' also that it doesn't happen over and over and over and over again. Who really cares what he thinks about some girlfriend that we've probably never seen? Who even cares if he's attracted to someone we actually know for that matter?

Yeah, he's at it again...this time he was talking about Andreev's GF, Maria Kirilenko, going on about how she was in the SI Swimsuit Issue and how Andreev probably didn't mind losing to Tsonga since he had "that" (yes, he referred to her as "that"!!!) to go home to. Of course, Andreev ended up winning...and yeah, I don't really mind when other announcers talk about the girlfriend hotness factor, it's just him; he just reeks of skeeve to me!

Super hate on Djokovic praying on court and looking to the heavens for assistance. Dude, it's a tennis match. Get some perspective.

HA! Another double post, but I just have to: Nadal's Roland Garros outfit, with the apparent theme of regular AND pink lemonade. I'll give him, personally, a pass on this, because he doesn't seem to give a shit about his clothes (or hair, or pant length, or whatever), but who the fuck on his team fell asleep? Seriously, pink & yellow lemonade? For fuck's sake, he's not a three-year-old toddler on a sugar-fueled Disney princess high.
I won't even mention the addition of grey flannel-look shorts. Oh wait, I just did.
[ETA: just to be clear, I really do blame Nadal's team and not him. He seems smart enough to just focus on his tennis and not worry about fashion. Unlike some other, nameless players that I might love, but question their priorities. If you know what I mean, and I think you do.]
