Awww, his Tweet on that was "worst day ever." Poor guy. However, in the world-revolves-around-my-life news: I always go through Andy Roddick's twitter to get to the other tennis players and I noticed that Ray Rice is one of his fantasy football players. Rice plays for the Ravens but went to my alma mater (Rutgers). Love him! Love that Roddick has him on his team. eta: There is just so much fun in this picture from Kuala Lumpur. Not the least of which is how comfortable Fer looks in that shirt.

So I finally got my prize from the ATP for being the event winner at the Roger's Cup. It kind of sucks. Last year I know you got a $1,000 gift certificate for TW. Times have changed. I got the official ATP 2009 Calendar, the 2009 Official Guide to Tennis and the 2009 ATP World Tour Book. Given that the 2009 season is almost over I can't say I'm really impressed.

That's actually shockingly lame. (no offense to you of course) It might not have been too bad if all that had been 2010 stuff but getting all the 2009 stuff in Oct 09 sort of sucks.

I was glad when you won and now pissy that you got such a crappy prize! I'm always on the bottom rung when I participate in those things but I'm glad to know that the first place prize wasn't much to be excited over

Wow. To get all 2009 stuff in October? That's just. . . . inexcusable. And to have missed putting up Fer's month when it was June? Meanwhile, I'm unhappy that they aren't doing the calendar again. I had fun changing to the new shirtless guy each month. (Hello Paradorn!) Speaking of Fer--his match against Beck is just about to begin and atdhe.net has coverage. wow: did everyone see the pictures of Rafa partying like a rock star that DtL posted? Having fun. Good for him.

The more I read about how unfairly she was treated, the more it angers me. Lets just say that I am now over the MOON that she can be part of our game again. I would LOVE her to refine her commentating skills, and come into the booth. Her knowledge of the game is unrivaled. Great to see Rafa letting his hair down... figurativley. He has this smile to him that makes him seem quite down to earth. When he doesn't wear his on court scowl, he looks like a very mellow guy. He at him partying it up with other tour players!

I think Hingis got a completely raw deal regarding the drug suspension and it wouldn't surprise me if she continued to stay away at least for a little while longer. I never cared for her much as a player (fine game but I had some issues moving on past that horrible FO 99 debacle) but it would be nice to see her commentate and it's nice that she can at least show up to the Slams now.
Watched the Pan Pacific Open semis last night. I was glad to see Sharapova's full service motion returned and she seemed to serve pretty well really. The rest of her game fell apart in the second set completely and was a little shaky in the third but she managed a win. I hope she can beat Jankovic whom I've tired of fairly quickly.

I think I should feel manipulated by the WTA and governing bodies about Hingis. Now that I have TTC (although maybe not for long--turns out Cablevision added TTC without TTC's permission and now TTC is thinking of suing the company they hired to contract them to providers) I've been watching some classic matches. They've been playing that FO final loads and loads. I completely forgot about the weirdness and the underhand serving. Thanks for reminding me, people in power [/sarcasm].
However, the outfits back then were so much better than what we see now. I covet both Steffi and Martina's clothes from that final.
My stream for Verdasco/Gasquet is quite herky-jerky. I hope it holds together for the rest of the match. Seems weird to be rooting against Tsonga in Bangkok but I really want to see Fer in the YEC and Tsonga is standing in his way.

Chris Evert and Greg Norman have split up. www.people.com/people/article/0,,20309956,00.html I thought I had read that they were separated and but then they were together at the USO. Which proves I should mind my own business !

You should not (because then I should too).
That would explain why they seemed so weird when I saw them interviewed on ESPN at the Open. I thought it was the interviewer (was it Pam? I think it was) but they seemed so off.
eta: hee, the girls are squealing for Fer in Kuala Lumpur. Do you think Andre gives Fer teenybopper advice when they're on the court?

So I see where Dinara Safina lost in the second round in China today. I guess it's not too bad a loss, since the other chick, Shuai Zhang, was only ranked 226. WTF?! I've defended her all year, and I do think she's been a good number one but I'm glad for her sake that she's losing that ranking after this week. Maybe she'll calm down some.
Venus also lost but it was to Pavlyuchenkova whom I've heard of at least. I hate to say it but this year has sort of made it clear that outside of Wimbledon, Venus really isn't a top player anymore.
