Too dark. 4-4 in the 5th. Yikes.
I love Fabio's coach yelling "Fabio, Fabio!" to get his attention. And Monfils asking the crowd to scream louder for them to keep playing. Wait, I thought Fabio wanted them to keep playing too. Did his coach make him change his mind?
As for good-looking. . . that coach! Wow.
At this point I think Fabio's team is doing him a disservice. They're getting him all worked up but it's not like he's going to change the director's mind.

They've called the other matches but are going to make Fognini play? Bullshit.

This match is insane!!!!
I normally love Monfils, but I'm pissed that he is trying to the utterly petulant French crowd to his advantage.

I want Monfils to win but there would be some karma if he lost now. . . and it is pitch black out there--how can the line judges see?
And Monfils is limping?!?

I've been rooting for Monfils, but if Fognini wins this tonight, I can't complain. He's dealing with the darkness and the crowd.

Well, that was a lot of brouhaha for two games.

You're not kidding. That whole thing almost backfired on Monfils.

Wow, it's pretty dark...... I guess Stan Wawrinka is like "play on boys, play on" since he'll be a lot fresher than whoever wins.

Why can't tournament directors just have some kind of objective measure of light on a court. Like some kind of light-o-meter. If it's darker than a certain level, you don't play, if it's lighter, you do. None of these ridiculous machinations that fall prey to the whims of the tournament director.

That's a good idea. Like one of the light meters we used back in the old days (where's my walker?) for photography. If it registers a certain level, that's it.

That's an especially good idea at the majors where so much is at stake, and the tournaments are run by the host country's tennis association. In a match like this when native talent is playing, it presents a bit of a conflict of interest if the referee is hired/a member of the association.

They are the only slam with the inability to play at night, and the only one without shot spot. And weren't they the last slam to give equal money to both Men and Women? For such a progressive nation, they sure do have some backwards ways.

It was amazing how the referee could not make a decision - even though every other match had already been suspended at that point. I am relieved that the decision didn't determine the winner. That was crazy dark.
