Serena is on Court 2 tomorrow which shouldn't be surprising but it is. It is funny is what it is. I figured Rafa would be on Centre and, of course, Andy but Caroline? I guess when you threaten to shove a ball down someone's throat, you've killed your chance with the Queen.

HOLY CRAP. I gave up on Isner/Mahut, took out the trash, went for a quick swim, took a shower, and this match is still going on? I'm tired just thinking about it.

I think ESPNU (if your cable system has it) was picking up the tennis after ESPN2 switched to soccer. Oh, and they've been adding ESPNU to a lot of cable systems so even if you think you don't have it--you might now. Also, it might still be going when the soccer is over.

Matches like this make me wonder why there isn't a tiebreak in the 5th set. Seriously, what is the benefit in playing it out? Maybe they can have a mercy rule and have a tiebreak at 12-all in the 5th set instead of 6-all.

Great point, amarathe. And I thought the Roddick/Federer match was ridiculous! This really takes the cake.

It was completely over the top. I went out to run an errand thinking I'd miss the end. i don't know what I was thinking. And now to add to this craziness, the scoreboard itself has given up??

Thiemo De Bakker (the 2nd round opponent for Mahut vs Isner) must be loving this. His opponent is going to be so freaking tired.

I agree Amarathe they should have a tie-break in the final set with the exception of the final.

Oh my, I had no idea just how terrible Hannah Storm was. The Mahut/Isner match is the first Wimby coverage I've caught this year, and damn the woman couldn't make it anymore obvious that she doesn't really pay attention to tennis. Which wouldn't be such a dealbreaker if she didn't insist on chiming in every five seconds to repeat that this is the LONGEST. MATCH. IN. HISTORY.

I am listening to this match at work and one of my co-workers who is a tennis buddy (her daughter used to play pro dubs) called me and said "have you heard?!" I called my husband to tell him about it and a co-worker came by to tell him about it when I was on the phone with them.
Not the best tennis at all it sounds like- but it has become an event! lol

I know! I was mighty confused when it defaulted back to 0-0 after the 100th(!!!!) game.
No joke. Not only are my immediate co-workers watching but I've had other company employees e-mail me.

I suspect that this isn't a popular opinion but...Serena is the number one player in the world and should be allowed to play in front of the Queen. It's a tennis match not charm school so I don't care that she hasn't perfected the curtsey.
Imagine the uproar if she had said that she would NOT bow to Her Majesty. C'mon Wimby we don't sit at the back of the bus anymore. This sucks IMHO.

I was half joking about the curtsy, but I agree that as the number one female she should be getting to play in front of the queen if she wants to. I suppose it's possible they gave her the option, but barring that, she should definitely have been on Centre Court tomorrow.
