He's the French soccer/football player who did some of the Gillette ads with Fed and Woods, isn't he? As happens all too frequently, I don't get the reference. Would some kind soul take pity on me and explain? And, yeah, the match blew. Harry, Thierry Henry was in Gael's box watching the match. One would hope he didn't fly in special to witness that bullshit. I'm watching Domi/Caro, and Woz is in control, but Monfils' ex is certainly putting up more of a fight than he did.

It's Thierry Henry the football player for France and I guess now New York. He was at one of Fed's practices during the qualies.

Holy shit Woz's dress is short! Damn. It's more of a longish shirt isn't it?

Totally, skyz. I know far more about the shape of Wozzzz's ass (and Venus too) than I should.

Wozniacki’s outrage at the replayed point was perhaps the most entertaining she’s ever been in a match. I have to say I’ll be rather depressed if Caro wins a major before Dementieva and Safina, especially if she wins on account of the wind.

Woz has a huge forehead. And it looks like she dyes her hair, I think I see roots or something. Domi looks kind of stumpy out there too but I guess that's to be expected as she's so short.
If Woz wins this I'll be really disappointed because I find her game so utterly boring. And to be selfish and fanatical about it I think there are others who deserve to win a slam more than her.
Looks like she'll be in the semis and hopefully Vera can take her out.

Why did Pam Shriver just tell Soderling to tie his shoes before he went on court? Did he have them untied or was she referencing something I don't know about.

Word. Her game is so utterly reactive and human backboardy. I feel rather insulted on Martina Hingis' behalf whenever someone compares Woz to her. Chucky may have been a brat, but her game was far more strategic and interesting to watch. And certainly less gawky looking. Caro's always rather hunched over and off center.

Thanks for the T. Henry explanation, all. I ff'd through the match so naturally missed important details like that.

In where's Collette tonight -- I spotted Collette in the stands getting ready to watch Fed/Sod. She's in the first row on the baseline behind Sod. This is even better than where's Waldo.

I don't mind Woz's game. I really didn't mind it too much when she was more passive, but I like it better now that she has gotten more opportunistically offensive. She's, of course, no Serena, but today was not a good day to judge her ability to end points proactively. She still has a long way to go re: improving her power game, but to me, she seems to be putting in the work. I'd rather see Elena or Safina winning her first slam, but neither of them could manage to make it as far as Woz did these two weeks, and I'm fine with her winning. That said, I'm a Venus guy all the way, and I know she's still a long shot (I don't think that she's shown the type of play she needs to beat Kim yet), but I'd be over the moon if she won the whole thing.

I gotta say, this is my 'enjoy the match, don't care who wins' situation.

Well I guess that;s it for Robin. I don't see him coming back from two sets down. Now if by some miracle he does come back and beats Fed I'll be thrilled but I just can't see how he'd do it.
I hope I'm surprised by the result in the morning.

Soderling's game reminds me of Blake's. If he can not execute plan A because of his opponent or in the case the conditions, he has no plan B. So far it is fairly amusing to see Federer push him about the court. Of course I do not like Soderling so that may be why I find it amusing.
