Man, I despise the creepy Bryan brothers. I also can't resist the Bopanna/Qureshi story, so I hope they come back for the win.
For the women's semis, I would love to see Zvonareva take out Wozzzzzzzzzz...oops, dropped off for a minute there. And I want Venus to beat Clijsters. Kim is nice and all, but the incessant fucking motherhood buzz is, well, a buzz kill, as many of you have pointed out. I'd be really happy to see Venus get another major.

Have you read her Twitter flirting with John Isner? It's the most entertaining she's been. . . ever. I'll watch some of that match at the gym. I've been hearing she's playing less moonball/more interesting so I wanna see. Either way, I think I'll root for Vera. I just like that crazy gal.
I love Kim, so I'm rooting for her.
Something I hadn't realized about those creepy brothers--they have the skinniest legs I've ever seen on a male tennis player. Thinner than Fish's, thinner than Andre's. And they are assholes. During their QF match, they didn't like a call the chair umpire made so one of them did the whole umpire "you're outta here" thing. To incite the crowd. Too obnoxious for words.

Peter Bodo had the best description of Vera's movement a few years ago: low-slung like a crab. I'm always impressed at how she stays low to the ground.

Vera is playing well, but the match is still pretty boring. The most interesting part of the broadcast was when the male commentator fixated on Sergey Demekhine and called him "Just her hitting partner". Yeah, I bet she hits that.

JMac’s “could be a meltdown in the near future” was a pretty douchey thing to say. So she miscalculated an easy volley. It doesn’t mean she’s going to self-implode.

Yeah, they really need to leave this alone. And John? Kettle? Black? Glass Houses? Stones? And Mary has to stop with the utterly offended act about Vera having some moments.
If he was my coach I would call him down between sets in tournaments that allow coaching just to gaze at him. Yowza.
I was actually really entertained by the first set--especially when Vera started coming in to the net. Some neat angles.
I love the fact that it is so chilly and not sunny that Vera is playing the entire match in long sleeves.
I'm watching now online and while I recognize the voices, I cannot name the commentators. I'm sure they won't make me as crazy as Mary and John.
eta: Wow! Good for Vera! I have to say, no matter her opponent tomorrow night--I'm rooting for her.

Evidently I'm very lucky to be watching this match with the sound down. It seems like a relatively high-quality match in terms of the clean and steady play, I'm not exactly bored, but you're right, it's not spectacular.

Vera! If Venus loses then I desperately need Vera to win. Hell if Venus makes it to the final I'll be happy with either player winning. Great job, Vera.

The online woman is Virginia Wade. I don't know the online guy commentator. They are less annoying than JMac and Carillo but also less knowledgable. After the first set, Virginia said "Caroline looks like she's at a loss as to how to turn the match around. And frankly, I don't know either." Um, thanks for that expert analysis.

Yeah, I actually found it pretty entertaining in the first set. There were quite a lot of great rallies. Dick and John seemed ready to declare any and every Woz-won point a game-changer, which was rather ridiculous. And I loved their seeming disbelief that Sergey could be Vera's coach. Heh. His smile post-match was so pretty.

Heh, good point. I guess I can live with John being annoying because, I have to admit, now that he's a fan of the woman's game he does have some good ideas about how a losing player could adjust. Mary? Nah, she's become completely useless.
eta: How much better does Venus look when that horrid outfit is covered up? Hopefully she'll play in long sleeves too. . .
eta2: holy crap: Serena looks gorgeous! Hair, skin, makeup.

Wow, there must have been a major lag on the live feed from usopen.org, because Vera and Woz are still playing, and I see that the Venus/Kim match has already started on the scoreboard.

Thank goodness, Venus's sixth dress is actually pretty, fairly basic in style, tennis-appropriate and does not ride up to her belly button.

Did you guys hear about Nadal's half million dollar watch being stolen at Roger's Cup in Toronto? He left it in a locker in the locker room while he was playing a night match. No players are suspected of stealing it. I did notice in Toronto that he wasn't wearing it. Anywho, the designer sent him another one and he says he'll keep this one on his wrist.
Happy for Vera. I'd be thrilled if she won the whole thing.

I heard about that watch being stolen. Too expensive for my tastes but what will the thief do with it? Who would pay for that?
So glad Venus isn't wearing her skin tight dress. Relieved actually.
Serena finally got a makeup artist who knows what she's doing and got her eyebrows done too. She looks fantastic. And it doesn't hurt that her weave is on point too.
