The easiest way to figure it out is using the Points Breakdown information, which has the number of points from each event. Here is Roger and Rafa. I'd say that Roger has more points than Rafa in the first three months (thanks mostly to the Australian Open) but Rafa, as usual, is near-perfect in clay season and Roger had a couple of early losses. Also keep in mind that while Andy has AO final points, that's all there is until clay season (in total, he has at least 700 fewer points than Roger to defend through the end of March) so Roger isn't even clearly #3. It seems strange to say but Roger's best shot at #2 might be to see if Novak buckles under the pressure of defending all those points in the first half of the year.

Oh, those shoes. But the dress looks better on her than the model--really made for a woman with curves 'cause it looks saggy on the model. Thanks, roseha! Those are some fun photos. What secret do you think Delpo is telling Monaco? . . . and what reply did Monaco give? . . . and Rafa picking the towel lint off of David! And it looks like someone asked Nalbandian a very silly question judging by the expression on his face. And Fer is bored, bored, bored. Actually, I just got to the picture of the three Spaniards at the dais and they all look bored. But, OMIGOD! The picture from 2004 of Rafa signing autographs for a bunch of wealthy women of a certain age--his FACE! Love it. The locker room auction didn't raise as much money as I thought it would (I think the paint ball paintings did much better last year) but what would you do with a bunch of clothes and shoes and stuff? And if there was any doubt about the two fave players on the ATP, once again Roger and Rafa prove their popularity.

Wow what a match today between Ferrer and Del Potro. Despite my Ferru love I was rooting for Del Potro. I really want Argentina to win the Davis Cup. Doesn't look like that's going to happen. Del Potro sobbing in to a towel all by himself on the bench was one of the saddest things I've ever seen.

I'm going to let Albert Costa sum up that match: "He is David Ferrer. What do you expect?"
breezybee - ITA. I'm also a Ferrer fan who would have liked to see Argentina win DC. The image from today that'll stick with me is the rest of the Argentines leaving del Potro all alone to cry in the towel. The sad part is that now I kind of want Spain to win the doubles now so del Potro isn't subjected to Rafa, which would be so much worse for him.

Just getting settled in here to watch the doubles this morning. Really pulling for Argentina. Has everyone seen Robin's new puppy? twitter.com/#!/jennimostrom/status/142551455608475648/photo/1 Too cute for words.

I hope Delpo is able to get over the agony of losing because he proved he's actually pretty close to being back at pre-surgery level - but doesn't quite have the confidence in the big points to get over the hump against the elite. To hang as close as he did against Rafa and David on clay in Spain is rather amazing.

I've been watching TC's 30 best matches of the year, and there have been some good ones. Last night and today they showed the Serena/Stosur match from Toronto. At the time, I was still sort of enthralled by how fit and impressive Serena was playing during her summer comeback, but watching it again I'm impressed by how good a match it was in spite of the scoreline. Sam started out playing a fantastic game, and she really did fight the whole way through, but Serena was just so intense and her movement in particular was better this summer pre-US Open than I have seen her in quite a while. Not only was it a great match, but it also makes Sam's steady-minded performance in the Open final that much more admirable. I know Serena seemed a little flat movement-wise, but Sam knew what she needed to do, and she did it, even through all the drama. Good on her.
Tonight they're showing Raonic/Roddick. That was another really entertaining match. And what a killer ending!

Dr. Youzhny How cool is that? falafaclese, atpworldtour.com named two Djoker matches as the top (men's) matches--the one against Rafa in Miami and against Murray in Rome. Does TC agree with that? I'm surprised at myself, and I'm not sure I would pick them, but they're great choices. No matter what I think about Djokovic, he sure brought out the best in his opponents more than a few times this year. breezy, that puppy is the cutest thing. I love those cottonball-head dogs. Awwwwwww! Here he is after his first haircut.. Too, too adorable. I filled in a survey about the WTF (to get free tickets for next year) and one of the questions was how I stayed informed about the event. You know I put our url in there! eta: I was just sent (very random) a copy of the 2012 WTA Official Rulebook so if anyone has any questions, ask away. eta2: dunno if anyone is interested but if you go through the gigapixel image of the WTF final and click on the eight singles finalists you enter a draw to win tickets for next year. I thought it would be hard (like putting them in actual seats) but they're, shall we say, glowing so it is super easy to pick them out. Looks like you can click on them multiple times which stinks because someone with loads of time can just click and click and click but oh well.

They're still in the teens, and I haven't kept track of all of them, but they're showing Djoker/Murray in Rome tonight, so I don't think it made it into the top 10. I think it's like 14th or 13th. I suspect Djoker/Fed at the U.S. Open will be higher ranked. It was a viewer poll, and I wish they were keeping track of the ones they've already shown on the website.

TC's countdown - since it's a viewer based countdown - pushes GS over Masters events and totally ignores matches before the semis, period.
I had voted and the fact the website forgot to include the Federer/Djokovic French Open match among the 30 choices makes the list worthless to me. While, yes, the Djok/Fed US Open match should be near the top, I don't remember a thing about the Nadal/Murray FO semi (which ranked in the teens) so this is a terrible oversight.

I didn't see the voting list, so I had no idea they overlooked the Djoker/Fed French Open match. I completely agree that there's no way that should have missed being one of the top thirty. I suspect Venus/Date at Wimby and Kuzie/Franky at the Aussie Open will be up there too.

falafaclese - The voting list is still available to see, even though it's closed. Venus/Kimiko and Kuzzie/Francie weren't there either, due to the not-before-the-semis issue. When I'd voted, I wasn't thinking of either but those are the two best WTA matches of the year (well, that and the French Open final for me).

I think I have to agree with you about the list being invalid then. Djoke/Fed was a great match, and to impose some sort of limitation that dictates that the matches have to be semis or finals is dumb and shortsighted. I just went back and watched the Venus/Kimiko highlights, and I remembered both the foreboding almost panicky feeling I felt for Venus, and the excitement I felt for Kimiko watching her really take it to a Venus who was not having one of her off days. Those short, flat angles she was hitting were startling at times. And Venus was fighting through all of it, but when she started blasting shots of her own in the second half of the first set, it went from entertaining to captivating. I'm sure my mouth was hanging open during most of it the first time I saw it.
