That's funny. He should retire and be done with it. How old is he anyway? I feel he must be older than Roger but perhaps not.
Looks like maybe a tie break is coming or a third set. I will see this set out but then I'm off to bed and hope that when I wake up I'll find that Li has won.

Oh snap! He played himself. Hewitt, that is.

Beautiful, well-deserved win. I'm thrilled for her as I was for Frannie last year.

Hee, guess he's rooting hard for Roger tomorrow so that maybe Roger will skip the tournament (has he ever?).
Congrats to Li Na! Her playing through her nerves and destroying that tiebreak was so good to see.
Oooh, they're airing the NetJets commercial with Roger and his trophies. Wonder if that might be a touch premature. . .
Okay, I'm ready for the men's doubles final. Hope the stream holds true. (Don't know if anyone is interested, but livescorehunter does have what seems to be a good stream for the doubles final. Right now they're showing highlights from the two teams' path to the final.)

I just yelled "Yes!!" at the top of my lungs when she won. Completely unexpected. I knew i was tense, but I didn't think I was quite that invested invested. The BF was a little taken aback i think. This is fantastic!

I'm very happy for Li Na too. I don't think tomorrow is likely to bring me any joy, though...

That was great! I love that Li's composure is always so appropriate, never overblown, whether she's celebrating or disappointed.
Loved that Fran's shirt was a super flattering color and that she was wearing briefs instead of boxers that are longer than her skirt (I mean, really!) and that she made the second set feel really competitive.
Loved that the ball kids and line judges were so cute. And that the ref was consistent in not awarding points on bad serve calls. I do think Fran made a mistake in working herself up on the line call that she was disputing... Even if the mark hadn't clearly looked in (yay HD!), it seemed to unduly affect her play after that.

Now she just needs to win a couple more big ones, and take over the number one ranking. Should be no problem!

Yay Li Na! I am so thrilled for her. She is so great for the game, and needless to say you don't see history being made every day. She really played a great match and what a tiebreak. I do think Frannie unraveled after the close call but it was Li's match and I'm so happy.
Interesting question how many more times R and R will play a GS final. Haven't they already set a record? will root for Roger regardless.

Wow, how exciting fo- Li Na, this is huge fo- he- and he- spo-ts mad count-y. Big, big ups, yay you. OTOH, hate that tb sco-e, how awful fo- Shiav to get so close, think could be a 3d and then pssst like a pin in a balloon, just nothing. Has to be a little humiliating to go down at love, no matte- how well the opponent is playing.
Still - even though it did seem Na was mostly dictating this match, it was no blowout.
And okay, I'm a little bit ne-vous fo- the men, but I expect it to be Nadal, and as I've said and always will say: losing to Nadal at the FO is no shame, not fo- anyone, not even the GOAT. I mean, it's Nadal, it's clay, it's the FO, c'mon. Fed is the GOAT of all time to me, but likewise Nadal is the clay GOAT, neve- mind that Djok beat him a couple times while he was on an unbelievable st-eak, it's still always Nadal's to lose. I want Fed to win, but I won't be gutted if he doesn't, not at all.
Oh, the thought that this may be thei- last GS final is just sad - 2 such classic playe-s, such a fantastic -ival-y, so much mutual -espect, such exceptional quality tennis. In some ways I'd like Fed to face anyone else in a GS final cause Nadal is the one most likely to beat him, but I'd hate to miss the beautiful, intelligent, astonishing, gasp inducing tennis they make togethe-. A g-eat match, an all-time classic takes two, and these two, well ....
But I can't finish this without hono-ing what Na did today, how fantastic she was, this was. Mind you, I would've been fine with Schiav winning too, both such likable playe-s, such inte-esting games, not just all boom-boom o- who has mo-e faults. Na won this, Schiav didn't lose it, in my mind. That's what I like to see. So yay Li Na.

If I thought the rankings would settle for a while with Djok at #1, then of course we're without the rivalry as a final option. But I really do hope that there is more movement back and forth through the numbers as they alternate strong seasons. I'm hopeful we'll see many more from them.
Including Wimbledon. Rafa and Roger have to be 1 and 2 going in to it. Or at least 1 and 3. And I expect them both to make it to the final. (Good lord, could I jinx any more events? Look away, universe.)
YAY LI NA! That was fantastic. And yes - to follow up on the earlier comment about Ted - he made a great point that both players were ready for the big stage today, the first time in a while for the women. Yays all around...

Yay! Congrats to Max and Daniel. I have to agree with Fred Stolle that Daniel was definitely playing the points better than Max but Max's serve was as on as always. So happy.
