Welcome, micki15! We're always happy to have more people join us here in the peanut gallery. We need some more bona fide Djoker fans to join in too, so jer have to be the sole voice (not that he's not capable of holding his own.)
This was a compelling ending to what seemed like a sort of muddled clay cour season this year. With Djoker playing so well, and Fed (and maybe Rafa?) finally able to give him a fight, the rest of the year could be great for the men. And for the women, with maria recovering, Na finally delivering on her potential, Vika-etc. starting to mature, and Kim and the sisters hopefully back in the mix, the women's tour could be good too.
Venus is supposed to play Eastbourne and Wimby, and Serena responded "coming soon" to a fan that tweeted to her about how much they wanted her back.
ETA: Okay since I typed that last part, the BF decided we were having a cocktail hour before dinner and handed me a margarita. And then another. Then I tried my hand at mixing onemyself. Needless to say, my state of mind has changed appreciably in the past hour and a half or so , and I just remembered that I never posted that first part. I now have to spend the rest of the evening trying to ensure that this afternoon doesn't negatively affect my ability to perform tomorrow. Wish me luck, and pass me some water. Lots of it.

Rafa only won points when I wasn't watching the scoreboard! It was me...all ME. He did wonderfully while I dutifully ironed clothes and cleaned my upstairs. He sucked it when I went downstairs to watch. I refused to even watch the final game for fear of the LipStick Curse.
Join me to the chorus of welcomes, micki. In my real life, I'm a Mikki myself. There is a rarely active Haterade Board if you are feeling the need. But even there is a safe place with no real venom and just real ranting. Except on that witchtastic Brit female commentator. We all hate her. Sue something?
I'm rewatching the match. I am feeling really bad for Federer. He's so much less Borg-like. Wait...I mean as in the Star Trek Borg not the Bjorn-type Borg. He always seemed the emotionless yet arrogant prig to me. Since the babies, he's seemed so much more human. And well...I'd give him a handie for taking down Djoker. Watching the second set. Roger has just a beautiful backhand.
So sorry I have been absent. I have really missed you people. Things got really busy and I cut out tennis during the Rise of the Novak. There was no joy for me during that although he earned every win and every ranking point.
I am really looking forward to Wimby!
ETA: I'm drinking a lovely glass ...perhaps bottle... of Vouvray in French celebration. Combining it with a sharp cheese and some crackers. Screw work.
And totally off topic, Prime Suspect with Maria Bello? Really? She's no HELEN FREAKING MIRREN. Okay, I'll probably watch anyway.

I forgot about her! Blah! Hate her hating on Murray with her big ol' teeth smirking at us. Blergh.
I was thinking of you when I was planting my flowers this year. Spring in the Northeast came so late that I only got to plant a couple of weeks ago. Then we skipped over spring and went straight to summer and now we're cold again. Needless to say, I got a week of huge blooms and now everything seems to be trying to sleep.
Hope I can find some streams for Halle and Queen's Club tomorrow. I'm looking forward to the grass and I cannot go from all tennis to no tennis.

I have to agree, it is so nice to be on a board where people don't attack each other (heh, I accidentally wrote attach, some proofreader I am)! It does make things easier since we all know deep down we can't change a thing about what we're watching.
I had the most lovely vacation for 10 days and Roger loses the day I have to leave. Sigh. It's connected with an artists group I belong to so I really can't change the dates; it has happened every year except 2009; so at least then I was home and got to record his win.
However for once I am glad Wimbledon is coming up fast. It is ridiculous how close they are - as much as I am annoyed with JMac today - and my personal opinion, as I commented earlier, is that he simply, like most tennis commentators, trashes the player who doesn't happen to win the final - I totally agree with his comments on the ITF and their bonehead scheduling. Wimbledon and the FO three weeks apart? Why Not, it's always been that way. Davis Cup five days after a Slam? Sure! You'd think over the years they'd at least look at that but they don't....
However I do love watching the grass...I have a personal fantasy about playing on grass but it's not easy to find around NYC...maybe someday.
Oh, yes, welcome micki15 and welcome back apocalipstick!

Welcome, Micki!
Welcome back, apocolipstick.
Feeling sad that Roger couldn't pull off this win. It's as though Rafa has a mind-hold on him and manages to suck the will out of him at crucial moments. Roger was playing solidly and really well, and then all of a sudden the spirit left him (apparently).
But it's always great to see dear Rafa happy. Whenever the two of them meet at the net after a big match I remember how one of our happy band here years ago once wished that the two boys would kiss. What a brilliant idea that was! (All due respect to Mirka and X---- whatever her name is (Rafa's girlfriend.) It's just that Rafa/Rog would make a spectacularly hot and adorable pair.
OT - Tiki, are you going to be in Maine this summer? I'll be traveling up to and from the Bar Harbor area July 23 and back on August 6. I'd love to meet up in person. Drop me an email sometime.

Indeed Harry24! Have you ever seen the Movie "Personal Best"? I would pay good money to see the Rafa/Roger version of that flick! That would be hot!
