For the record I worshipped at the altar of Roger for years, and still do when he's not playing Rafa. So be nice.

Yeah, I'm having that problem too. And thanks to TTC and the ragged coverage I've seen in the last year, I had forgotten just how repulsive I find Nadal on-court. Maybe it's just time to move on from tennis...

It's not that I don't love Rafa, I do, but he's such a terrier and we're seeing the result of that now. Roger is about to lose 6 games in a row and that's just so heartbreaking for me. I never felt that Rafa was out of the match--even when he was down a set point at 2-5--but Rafa has the great ability to make me feel a set and a break is all he'll need.

Can I coach Roger?? I know jackshit about tennis, but I could help with the psych part. He's beating himself because he's been playing constant defense since that set point call. I saw him doubt himself and now that just pervades.

Strangely, knowing falafaclese, GrandSlamGuru, and I know chocula and Chesty are rooting for Rafa will make me feel a bit better if Roger does lose (see, it isn't Rafa wining that bothers me, it's Roger losing). I don't know you guys, but I know Roger and Rafa even less so knowing there are people happy out there that I want to be happy makes me happy.
That said, Roger! Don't let him break back!

I want to feel that way, GSG, but knowing how much better Roger can play makes me more sad than anything. It pains me, but I just don't enjoy it.
But I also really don't like watching Nadal on court. I know it's blasphemy, and I know it's no secret: I have tried, but have never liked his play. This is just my honest perception, not to deflate the beneficent sentiments behind your comment, GSG.
That said, I am glad there will be happy people,lt. I would just like it to be me this time!! [/sourgrapes]

That's me, 100%. I like Nadal tons, so much - but I don't like anyone beating Fed, any time, any whe-e. It also stuns me that anyone could say Nadal isn't in his p-ime(not that anyone he-e did). He's 25, just - all of 3 days now! Since when is 25 old in tennis?
And man, I expect Fed to lose this, always have, think I'm accepting of it but who am I kidding? Makes me kinda gloomy, even though it's a g-eat tou-nament fo- him, stopped the unbeatable looking Djok, etc, etc .... sniffle, in the end, none of it counts while he's losing

And now we're seeing just why I needed Roger to win this: Mary and John saying "how could we say Roger is the GOAT if he can't beat Rafa?" when a couple of hours ago John was saying how a win here would make Roger indisputably the GOAT. The media makes Roger the GOAT or a goat at every turn. It's annoying.
