Ugh. I had her in the quarters.
Congrats to Llodra. Bathroom breaks are important things. And now I get to seethe last couple of Anderson games. Man, Kevin is hitting harder than he used to.
Now I'm in the new court watching Haas. It's neat, the sideline seats are really low. Eta: I think I'll try thebaseline seats next time, they're higher but I think the view will be good.

Oh dear, Tommy keeps grabbing his hip flexor (which makes him look like me). He's going to have to close this out in three.

I lost my heart to her in her pre-game interview in the chute. She was adorbs!
The color of Maria's outfit makes her look jaundiced.
Keys has the figure of a much older woman. She moves with grace and power, and her groundies look fluid and powerful. I'm feeling hopeful about her.

I caught about a minute or two of her match, and it struck me that she seemed older than 16 too. I wasn't sure if it was just that she's so tall and athletic, and that the last time I saw her she was like 13-14. Maybe they'll have a replay of her match on the US Open website.

I think during the match I heard the commentators saying Keys was now 17.
And I'm looking forward to the response from the Tennis Heaven commentariat on Venus's dress. I think it might be the worst one she's ever worn. A black baby doll with pink lace and pink shorts? O-M-G.

I was just criticizing V's dress to TikiBoy. He thought it was fine. When I commented that it made a model-thin woman look wide, he responded, "Maybe she wants to look wide." Men. Jesus.

This was the first time I saw Madison Keys play, and boy was I impressed. She has HUGE potential. What a potent serve and forehand, and she moves well around the court. She is the young American that people should really be talking about. She def has the physical game; whether she'll acquire the mental game is the question.
I also thought Keys looked just like a thinner, fitter Alexandra Stevenson.

Venus's dress...oh dear, where to begin. From the front it is passably cute. When she turns around though, oh boy. The white lace with pink ribbon is just, ugh...and the white shorts make her look like she's wearing a diaper. The dress should have been solidly black.
At least she is wearing something that doesn't constantly ride up to her waist, exposing her nether regions, like last year!
Despite the fashion no-no, Venus isn't playing so badly for someone who has played 3 tournaments (just the slams!) all year.
