Thanks, skyz! Looks like I'm bad luck for Mahut though, huh?

I mentioned in the Bracket thread about rooting against Roddick and feeling really weird about it.. Seeing Mahut actually win this match - and really step up in the fourth as Andy's brain decided to drift again - was awesome. For a player who's had such issues in this event and being known for one very very very long loss, it was nice to see him finally get his moment in front of the home crowd.

Roddick out in the first round. Quelle surprise.
So glad to see the red clay of Roland Garros.

Venus seems to have settled into her game. I'm actually torturing myself by listening to Mary, Ted and JMac.
JMac: What's the name of that thing Venus has again? Mary finishes her drink, laughs inappropriately. Ted sounding earnest: I believe it's called Sjogren's SYNNNNdrome. JMac: Oh, so it's Swedish. Mary laughs inappropriately: It was discovered by a Swedish man. Ted: Indeed. JMac: To bad it wasn't around when I was playing Borg.
FUCK ME RUNNING THEY SUCK.

Amen, my friend. Amen.
apocalipstick: I'm not sure who "he" is, but I'm glad he's well. That kind of circumstance can really take its toll so having a grand slam to enjoy will surely do ya good.
Anyone seen our pal ac-e?

I am glad I left after Roddick's match because commentary like that would lead me to grab the booze.
Djokovic isn't going to face a player inside the top 90 until the fourth round. Melzer managed to blow a two-sets-to-none lead to Berrer.

GSG, "he" would be ApocaDad. Aging parents. It's horrid. . I did grab the booze. I made homemade guac and having a Corona. Tennis, booze and good food. A perfect Sunday.

Hmm, sounds like a great plan for a Sunday. You deserve it!
I see you're in Ohio -- I'm originally from Columbus and am (sadly) still a fan of the Browns (sigh) and Buckeyes. But I've been in NYC for twenty years so...
Good for Venus!

Browns fans. Heh. ApocaDad was born and raised in Pittsburgh, so I'm a total Steeler fan who lives near Bengals territory. Only there is no real Bengals territory as most people think the just suck. I went to grad school in Cleveland so I have a decent appreciation for the Browns.
Yay for Venus. I really want her to make the Olympics. Venus needs to end her career on a high note.
I don't mind Melanie Oudin, but is that what they are showing? I can see not playing any of the current live matches, but Oudin? REALLY?

Apparently Oudin hadn't won a match outside of challengers since April of last year. They're gonna hype her up all they can. But yeah they should be showing live tennis, not a match that ended over four hours ago, but that's NBC for you. And I don't understand how they still have the French and not Wimbledon! That doesn't make sense to me. I hate NBC.

Ted Robinson and John McEnroe are the Jim Nance and Phil Simms of tennis announcing.
However, it's tennis and that makes me happy.

No badmouthing my Phil. . .
They finally called the Anderson/Machado match for darkness. How long were they out there? Looking at the schedule tomorrow it looks like I'll wake up to see if Feli won his first match or not.

A Phil the Player fan I can respect. Phil the Announcer? Baby, please tell me it's not true.
The A/M match is up third. So much good tennis tomorrow. I just took a little nap since I was up so early this morning. I might actually be awake during the Feli match. MmMm...Feli.
I didn't realize Hewitt was playing the tournament. I guess he wants an Olympic slot too. He's only 31 but it feels like he's 40 he's been around so long.
Has any website out there complied all the tennis kits for the players? I feel the need to criticize fashion and fit.

I'm he-e, thanks GSG. Just didn't see any of the tennis today, so had no new comments to make. I'll be on when I do.

This blogger has all of the top Nike players. Normally, they have all of the top players (which usually means Nike, Adidas, Fila, and sometimes a bit of Lacoste and Sergio Tachini) but this time it's only Nike for some reason.
