I haven't seen much the last few days except for the Tennis Channel replays. I picked up Roger's match at the end of the fourth set - even then on replay I could feel the tension! Was following it at work but that was hard. It was indeed reminiscent of FO 2009 after Nadal lost. I just switched my DVR for a Tivo so I hope it will be working by Monday! A day should be enough time I hope... So has the "indoor" play at Centre Court been favorable to players historically good indoors, such as Roger, for instance? And did the roof help Rosol? What do people think? I'm totally in favor of the roof actually since the alternative seems to be playing in the dark due to rain delays (since the networks don't want to lose out on their ratings by going past Sunday for the final), but it would be a good idea to also cover Court One, as the head of the All England Club has admitted. More fair to the other players I'd say.

The roof did help Rosol. Rafa has never had a game suited for indoors so I have to think that his ball was landing right in Rosol's comfort zone (which, admittedly, was a rather big zone in the fifth set).
It's tough for me to keep track what matches were indoors. Has Petra played in those conditions yet?

FYI: for those watching on TV tomorrow it looks like ESPN will have Centre Court (starting at 8am ET) and ESPN2 will be airing matches from other courts (starting at 7am ET). I know there are complaints about ESPN taking over Wimbledon but I'm loving it. Nothing is as bad as the Networks when they do tennis and TTC is just not available to enough people. Hurts the sport when no one can watch.

Agreed lt. We have great coverage here in Canada on two TSN channels. Everyday has had 10 straight hours. I just discovered I have both of the TSN channels in HD which has made for incredible tennis watching.

I heard about the two-channel coverage. That sounds great. I assume they'll be doing that all week? I hope, because I'll be working most of the week.
I just watched the Serena match, and it was quite a fight. I love Zheng, because she's so small has such a sweet, smiley face, but she'll rip you to shreds if you're not spot-on. She played well, and that third set was like the two of them trying to choke the life out of each other. Serena's serve, as usual, really came through for her. Her return, on the other hand, is still giving her problems here and there. It was a good win for her, and a good match for both of them.
I watched some of the Murray/Baghdatis match too. I had the sound down and was sort of distracted when I turned it on, and I was thrown off when I saw McLagen. At first I was wondering if he had re-started his partnership with Murray and then I remembered he was working with Baghdatis. The third set especially was pretty entertaining.

And because I'm the broadcast person today. If you're home and staying out of the 100 degree temperature that seems to be everywhere (or if you're waiting to be called in to work like me)--ABC is airing three hours of highlights from the first week starting right now. I know (because he said so) that John McEnroe did an interview with Roger that will air.

My only "problem" with the 2 channel coverage is that because I PVR, sometimes I'll miss something I'd like to see on the 'other' channel. THen, when I"m watching the PVRed tennis, I'll get the bottom banner saying "X is playing on TSN2" and I'm like ... Dammit!
"First world problem" for sure, I know.

Oh no, seems Roger is hurt and has taken a medical break.
ETA: He must be okay because he just took the first set via tie break.
Serena finds herself down 4-5 in the 3rd.

Just what I came on to knpw - saw mostly -ain delays, quick talking head about Feds back issues, but just a one-off, no actual info. ? Se-ena's good, Kvitova/Schiavone next.
Mostly quiet with the -ain though.

What the hell is wrong with the officials? They should have started this day with the Centre Court roof closed. And then to have the players come out ready to play, only to be told wait we're gonna close the roof after all, so sorry. Ridiculous.
I'm glad Serena won her match right in time, too.
Hope Fed has his back looked and gets treatment during the roof delay.

Schiavone is going to be pissed when she finds out most of the other courts stopped play as she was complaining about the surface.

She should be pissed. What the umpire said was bull. Maria's in a tight spot. Can no one beat Radwanska but Vika? I mean come on!

Interesting article about Roger. Touches on his mental toughness and other things. He certainly had me scared with his back. I'm glad he won that match.

So sad that Kim has played her last Wimby in her fall to Kerber. I was surprised yet pleased to see Maria fall to Lisicki.
Ana was a hot mess today. She had nothing, and I mean nothing. I was embarrassed for her.

Ferrer/del Potro match has officially been cancelled today.
Which leads to the assumption that a match that's started could be moving to Centre. If they play fair, it should be Mayer/Gasquet as it's the only top half match not finished.
