Aga Radwanska has clearly upset a higher order to have to likely deal with Venus Williams in consecutive Grand Slams. Her sister, on the other hand, is on a roll - Ula is in the finals of Eastbourne and has a very nice draw fully capable of falling apart.
Clijsters/Jankovic. Such a shame... for Jelena, as I suspect Kim is just fine.
Isner/Mahut III: should actually be a good match, given Nico's recent form.
Ferrero (against Novak) and Haas/Kohlschreiber winner (Rafa's third round) are all capable of huge upsets. I know that Murray's draw is also tough just due to Ivo being around but that's negated by Andy getting hyped up for Davydenko first round.
Andy Roddick couldn't have asked for a nicer draw. I did double-take when I saw Baker as his first match but it's Jamie so that's good. He beat Ferrer last year so there's definite positive - though I just love the contrast of David Ferrer playing Dustin Brown first round and pray that's on a televised court.
Dark horse: Seppi. Between Isner/Mahut and Tipsy/Nalby, there's drama all over the place so he could easily slip into the second week.
Match I'm torn about: Llodra/Fog. I love watching Llodra's game on grass but I really want the drama of a Fog/Roger match.

For all the easy draws that it seemed like JJ got in the majors when she was doing better, it seems like her fortunes have changed. or maybe it's just that with her form of late, draws that would have seemed easy 3 years ago don't anymore? Except Clijsters is a hellish first round draw for anyone.
Novak/Ferrero is a very interesting first round match-up. Of course Novak is likely to win, but JCF is always a bad name to see early in the draw. Also he has a decent record at Wimbledon, doesn't he?

All I want is for Venus to have a good run. I'm not expecting much, just enjoying the fact that she's still playing, but I want her to end her career on a good note.
As for the men I'm rooting for Roger. Full stop. I want him to win it and if not him then Nole. Or better yet AndyR but that's unlikely.
I'm excited for Wimbledon! Hate that it's all on ESPN2 but what can you do? I hope they get to tennis instead of making us listen to the commentators talk while live tennis is on.
Come on Monday!

Just watched Paszek beat Kerber in Eastbourne final. Memo to both Angelique and Caroline: you are deep trouble. I had to double take upon watching Kerber because she was playing like Wozniacki- and that was disaster. Angelique was in tears after blowing five match points. As for Tamira, that's two amazing comebacks in a row against Top 10 players so she's gotta think she has a real chance.

It is a shame Ferrero will very likely be out in the first one as Nole is getting his kinks out in the first round. I think JCF is just sooooo handsome. His face deserves to be seen as much as possible.

What the hell is Venus doing out there? Has she held serve even once?
Lordy, my Djokovic hate is running deep and strong today. I need more pretty JCF.
Okay...I put up Fognini Llodra as the main match on SlamTracker and what the hell is going on with Fognini's hair in that photo?
Tennis! WHHHHHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Woke up to a storm outside which knocked the satellite out for at least an hour but just came back and can see what is going on with Venus.

Ain't that the truth. And as impossible as it would have seemed ten years ago, he's better looking to me now. The one time he wasn't at his most gorgeous was when he'd play with the big tied headband--his head was too small for that thing. But, of course, that was just a fashion don't, not a face don't.
Poor Venus, I have to agree with Pam (what?!?) that stress will aggravate her illness and she's going to really have to de-stress to turn this around. What got me was the looks on the faces of the crowd. Not even her box, just the normal fans--they all look so concerned. Talk about not reveling in a potential upset.
eta: I hope Venus is healthy enough to stay in the doubles because that should help the nerves when it comes to the Olympics.

Ugh. Venus. And JCF really didn't test Novak at all. Tipsy really has turned into a top 10 player.

I feel disappointed for Venus, but I didn't have any expectations, only hopes and they were dim ones. I too hope she does better in the doubles, Serena will be bound and determined to make it as far as they can just for Venus. Now my hopes are on Serena and if she loses then I'm through with the women for the rest of the year, except for the Olympics. There's no one I like well enough to watch, except if Serena makes a few finals. Hopefully the Olympics go better for Venus, which has been her goal, and she medals in doubles. Next year I think will be better, if she plays.
Now my only interest is on the men's side. I hope they make it an interesting tournament.

Is it bad of me to want Isner to lose in the first round so we are not subjected to "Isner/Mahut II: A Study in How Poor Quality Tennis Can Make a Match Last Forever"? (As an aside, did anyone real Portuguese Irregular Verbs? I cannot think about the Marathon Match without thinking about the Principles of Tennis chapter.) Grannollers/Troicki looks like it is going five. ETA: Serena and Venus rated a post from Tom and Lorenzo! www.tomandlorenzo.com/2012/06/pairs-division-venus-serena-williams.htmlI have to agree. The dress on Venus is all sorts of wrong and she doesn't need to do the "I have to pee" stance on the red carpet to make her legs look longer. She has done better. Serena's hair and makeup are amazing, but I think the problem with the dress is that the bust isn't properly fitted. I was so hoping for a disco fabulous look from both of them when I saw the head shots. ETA2: I had to find all the red carpet looks for the WTA event. www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/2012/06/22/wta-pre-wimbledon-party-at-the-roof-gardens/Ana Ivanovic needs to meet COLOR. That dress is boring in neutral and she's a lovely girl. Li Na stands like a linebacker and she's got high school cheerleader hair going on but the dress is gorgeous on her. Caroline needs to break up with Stella McCartney. That dress makes her look like a small town girl in a hooker costume. www.redcarpet-fashionawards.com/2012/06/22/maria-sharapova-in-antonio-berardi-pre-wimbledon-party/Maria. LOVE the dress. Love the idea of red shoes with it. Just not dark red satin strappy drag queen shoes.

I'm very disappointed for Venus, but I have stopped complaining and feeling like she let me down. I'm just happy she's playing, and happy she seems to be determined to figure her situation out. She was very cagey at her presser afterwards. As you can imagine, most of the questions circled around her health, and whether she's thinking about quitting. She was noticeably annoyed at a few points, and I couldn't blame her.

Boy, Isner has just really gone off the rails since the French Davis Cup tie. What's wrong with him?
